Editorial Reviews

Power Quest was Conceived in March 2001 by Keyboardist Steve Williams as an Outlet for his Melodic Power Metal Compositions, Influenced by the Likes of Stratovarius, Rhapsody and Freedom Call. . Power Quest Bring a Whole New Dimension to the Power Metal Genre. Along with the Traditional Galloping Rhythms, Soaring Vocals and Triumphant Choruses of Tracks Like "neverworld (Power Quest Part Ii)", "Sacred Land", "Well of Souls" and the Stunning "Temple of Fire" the Band Adds Huge Balladry ("When I'm Gone") and Incredible Melodic Rock Tracks Such as "Edge of Time" and "For Evermore", Where Elements of Tnt and Royal Hunt Meet Up to Deliver Huge Anthemic Slabs of Rock.

I think the songs on Neverworld on really good songs but I think it could have been recorded much better. You would think in these modern times that recordings could sound more awesome. Their MAGIC NEVER DIES cd sounds very pristine and just about perfect but all their other albums sound kind of distorted. I think this one has one song that's like 9:00 plus and that's kind of too long. I like it when heavy metal groups keep their songs at about 4:30 to 5:30 or so. This is still an improvement over the first album, even though the first was really good. Maybe they will later do remasterings on the others that I have a problem with and we'll have to shell out the dough for them again. I would give this five stars, instead of 4.5, if it weren't for the sound quality. Other than that, this is a fine collection of songs. ENJOY!!!

Power Quest's fantastic sophmore effort now legitimately available to the public without costing an arm and a leg. This is definitely a good development, as Neverworld was their most expensive album on the secondary market.

As for the album itself, it's absolutely fantastic, provided two things: 1. you're ok with drenching yourself in 80s-style music, and 2. you're ok with a samey-sounding album (the album's one weakness is that there's not a huge amount differentiating songs between each other, which is a problem that has gotten worse over their future albums). That being said, the instrumentation is fantastic, and despite its age the production holds up incredibly well (which can't be entirely said for Wings of Forever, which could definitely use a remaster). The keyboards (performed by band founder and maintstay Steve Williams) is among the best ever offered by Power Quest, and Martongelli's guitars have a slick feel that accompany the music well.

A highly recommended album.

"The UK rockers return with their sophomore album and it proves to be an absolute killer. If this band were Carlsberg they'd probably be the best in the world but they'll have to make do with being the best in Europe for now. Symphonic, well constructed, Power Metal from people who are obviously highly talented. Production (Karl Groom) is nothing short of sensational. For those who reckon that only the Scandinavians can do this sort of thing, we implore you to open your minds and give this album a try. You WILL NOT be disappointed."
