The coronavirus pandemic conferred enormous power on certain government officials. They have no intention of giving it up.

In the space of a few weeks in early 2020, Americans witnessed the imposition of previously unimagined social controls by the biomedical security state—the unelected technocrats who suddenly enjoyed nearly absolute power to incarcerate, isolate, and medicate the entire population. In this chilling new book, a dissident scientist reveals
  • the people and organizations that form the biomedical security state
  • its role in the origin of the pandemic and shaping the government response
  • why it is a threat to science, public health, and individual freedom
  • what can be done to confront and defeat this new Leviathan

When covid-19 broke out, Dr. Aaron Kheriaty’s work put him on the front lines. Realizing that the mental, physical, and economic toll of lockdowns was catastrophic, he began to protest that the cure was worse than the disease—an intolerable heresy. When he refused vaccination because he had natural immunity from a previous infection, the University of California, Irvine, medical school fired him. He fought back, in the courts and in the media, and has become a reliable source of truth amid official obfuscation and censorship.

Now it’s time for all of us to fight back. The deadly and arrogant misrule of the biomedical security state must not become the "new normal."

I consider this one of the most important books written yet about the pandemic.

Kheriaty is a psychiatric physician and former professor of ethics who put everything on the line for his beliefs. He lost his job and is involved in multiple lawsuits, fighting for his AND OUR constitutional rights. He's a brilliant scientist and genuine philosopher, with well founded warnings about where the world's out of control technocrats are leading us (hint: to the slaughter of our last civil rights).

His calm, methodical approach explaining our disastrous pandemic policies and how we can do better moving forward AND next time (because be assured there WILL be a next time) are what we need now more than anything. Don't skip the last (hopeful) chapters. They're beautifully written with loads of invaluable practical guidance.

Definitely a great read if things feel "off" since the lockdowns started and you feel like it goes beyond even the surface level issues like fighting over masks, getting vaccinated, etc. There's a deeply spiritual element to this, and although it is chilling how much evil is exposed in it, the reader still is given hope and inspiration at the end. Dr Kheriaty shows an unwavering faith in humanity despite everything he went through in the "new abnormal". He encourages people not to despair but to rebuild a more rooted society in the future and stand against evil next time. I truly believe that is possible. At the conference where I met Dr Kheriaty in person, Jeffrey Tucker started out by saying that the biggest challenge of standing against the lockdowns was that we all needed to find each other. I have gifted copies of this book to family members and recommended it to countless friends it's so mind-blowing!

This is a book every American should read. Aaron Kheriaty knows what he writes about. He didn’t just have a front row seat, he was on stage at Ground Zero during the inaugural days of the Biomedical Security State during the Covid pandemic, putting principle above politics and ultimately sacrificing his career as head of Medical Ethics at one the nation’s premier medical institutions. This was the beginning of the New Abnormal in 2020 and 2021. But this is much more than a personal memoir. It is a scholarly work that traces the antecedents and political and philosophical underpinnings that made the unthinkable a reality in America and around the world. It is a stern wake up call and warning, highlighting in the end that the perpetrators of all this carnage are not just personalities(though many are named) they are powerful institutions and governments allied in global, neo-fascistic alliances that must be resisted with everything that the freedom loving world has left to fight with. If we fail in this, the world portrayed in his Epilogue will only be the beginning.

Dr. Kheriaty is a physician, psychiatrist, and medical ethicist who put his career on the line to stand up for the principles he taught to medical students and trainees. He connects commonly observed events during the pandemic in a persuasive and comprehensive manner. He shows how, sometime after 9/11 and the anthrax attacks, public health and infectious disease leaders have been increasingly influenced by and rolled into national and global military and security agendas, adopting their methods and tactics - resulting in the surprisingly authoritarian covid response. I trained in medicine at the height of the AIDS epidemic in the 1990s. The humane principles that guided the public health response then seem to have been lost in the covid era. I am hopeful that a greater awareness of the reality of the burgeoning "biomedical security state" will lead to a course correction and a return to traditional ethical public health methods and values.

I agree with another reviewer - this is one of the best, if not the best book I have read on the rise of the biomedical security state. Beginning with the horrific and criminal response to COV!D and predicting a future indescribable terror. If we don't stand up to the tyranny that is playing out before our very eyes, I fear decency, respect, compassion, relationships, collaboration, freedom and humanity will be knowingly and deliberately destroyed. Please read this and share it with your family and friends - if they'll listen, see and learn. It is extremely well written, clear, amazingly erudite and a champion's call to action.

Psychiatrist and bioethicist Aaron Kheriaty, MD writes a highly intelligent review of the COVID fiasco perpetrated by the political, medical and public health "leaders" in our country. As he witnessed the unethical and illogical mandates foisted on America (and elsewhere) he spoke out against those decisions. Consequently, he lost his job as Professor at the University of California, Irvine. After viewing several of his online interviews and hearing him in person, I purchased this book in all 3 versions, Kindle, Audible, and hardbound. Although he is not the narrator for the Audible version, the narrator does an excellent job. The book is a warning to our country about the danger of allowing fear of disease to strip us of our rights as citizens and human beings. He makes several suggestions about how we can reclaim our freedom.

I was shocked to see this man's recording of his being escorted off his university campus for refusal to take the Covid vaccine, and it woke me up to evil being done in the name of public health. One of the many subtleties covered in the book is the shift from the use of the term "public health" to the use of the term "population health."

What have we just gone through? I can tell you that most people I know have taken the vaccine and think the pandemic is over and we need to forget it. I don't think we will be able to forget it. The author warns of what is planned for the future, and I see worrying signs that he is right. For example, just this past week (November 2022), the Mayo Clinic -- with its mantra "The needs of the patient come first" -- denied a kidney transplant to a woman until she got vaccinated. Also, Biden extended the emergency to April of next year.

From “The New Abnormal”:

In April 2022, the CDC finally published a super valence study of (natural immunity) … The silver lining was that of the huge number of people who had been infected with covid, 99.8% had survived, including 99.9996% of those under age fifty. … p.114
[Read those % data again.]

This information alone was sufficient to demonstrate that lockdowns, vaccine mandates, and vaccine passports, should never have been considered in the first place. That these measures were adopted suggests that these decisions had little to do with public health.” p.115

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-read
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 17, 2023
This is an important book presented in an intelligent, easily read style, which I found hard to put down once I started reading. Aaron Kheriaty
has written a clear-eyed and literate view of the place of the 2020-21 pandemic within a much wider subject of the looming dominance of the biomedical security state. He gives his views through the lens of a practising clinical psychologist, academic and an experienced and profound ethicist. What is refreshing about his book is that Kheriaty although focussing on America, sets his whole subject in and shows acute knowledge of, worldwide responses and research. He also sets the whole event in a wider historical setting, speaking about the early eugenics movement and Nazi control of medicine in the 20th Century.
In a very interesting chapter, he clearly delineates the difference between real science based on accepted methodologies and argument against scientism which is based on religious-style beliefs and rigid orthodoxies.

Kheriaty is scathingly critical of Western government's kow-towing to communistic ideas and the money and pervasive influence from the CCP in health matters on academic levels and government strategies during the covid pandemic and before.

Chapter 2 delineates his loss of his job at UCI and law suits against the University because they fired him for refusing the covid jab. Along with others in parts of the book, it's quite shocking and unprecedented how badly people were treated and let down during covid. Kheriaty was sacked from his 20-year position as a Professor at UCI when he dared to disagree with the established covid narrative and comply with mandatory vaccines. As an ethics in medicine professor he said

" In the end, my decision to challenge these mandates came down to this question: How could I continue to call myself a medical ethicist if I failed to do what I was convinced was morally right under pressure? Projecting ahead to the required medical ethics course I taught to first- and second-year medical students at the beginning of each year, I could not imagine lecturing on informed consent, moral courage, and our duty to protect patients from harm if I had failed to oppose these unjust and unscientific mandates. I simply would not have woken up each day with a clear conscience."

Kheriaty meticulously unravels the tangled web of vested interests and supposed regulators and the compliant media which, in what can only be seen as a corrupt system money buys approval and covers up when things go wrong. The whole system of safeguards for drugs and vaccines seems to have been loosened and made less safe in the US (and probably elsewhere) since the 1990s as each safeguard in the interest of patients and people has been slowly picked away. It seems also that with the covid vaccine things got even worse, a system of 'anything goes' prevailed, and 'don't anyone dare to question any of it'.

I was shocked to discover from this book that the NHS planned to share/sell the data of 55 million patients with private companies and was stopped by an exposé in the Financial Times, this wasn't widely publicised. However, this was not before they had shared data with many companies already, including the data of those who had supposedly opted out. We are left to conclude from all this that we actually cannot trust anyone. NOT ANYONE in authority it seems. I was also shocked but not surprised by the sheer scale of wealth redistribution from the poor to the rich which took place during the pandemic. It seems to stretch to more than $1trillion, probably much more. Kheriaty has very good statistical information in the book, where this is enlightening.

Kheriaty's main theme is the plans for biomedical dominance which WHO and WEF are working towards.

"Davos Man helped craft the pandemic rules in his own interests, orchestrating a staggering, world-historical scheme of larceny."

"In the wake of the pandemic, the richest ten people in the world now have combined wealth greater than the poorest eighty-five countries combined. Pause for a moment and try to wrap your mind around that. This outcome was neither accidental nor caused by a virus. It was driven by specific policies that our elites orchestrated and that we accepted. Let us not be deceived: the devil dances in Davos."

I felt physically sick after reading that paragraph! Another sick-inducing element is to read about the ideas of the transhumanist, Yuval Noah Harari,a fanatic and darling of the World Economic Forum who wants to monitor and hack what's going on in our bodies, not for us, or our benefit, but for control and his profit. He is a sinister, atheistic individual who thinks he can take the place of God and tinker with human biology. He tells humans they don't have God-given free will. Anything sound like a useful idiot being manipulated by a malign force here?

Harari doesn't realise who last promoted this type of idea, yes, the advocates of eugenics. This quote may give a sense of why Harari is so nauseating:

"Harari has puzzled over the question of what to do with people in the future who will refuse artificial intelligence–mediated enhancement— folks he refers to as “useless people". “The biggest question maybe in economics and politics in the coming decades,” he predicts, “will be what to do with all these useless people?” He goes on to explain, “The problem is more boredom, what to do with them, and how will they find some sense of meaning in life when they are basically meaningless, worthless.”"

The final chapter ends on an upward note with Aaron Kheriaty's suggestions of how we can move forward in a better direction than the limited elites imagine for us and how we can resist their tyrannies.

The whole book is a compelling read which I finished in two sessions. It serves as a warning of why we should do everything possible to be very aware of those who seek to control and rule us and hold those people accountable. We must resist their sinister ideas and instead use technology for good and not give in to their ignoble control-freakery. They are after all sad, deluded freaks.

A really excellent book, with valuable insights that everyone who is ready to snap out of the mass formation should know. Highly recommended.

If we ever wondered 'what kind of people could have stood by and watched people thrown to the lions, or burned as witches, or gassed as jews?' ... we now have our answer, after the past 2 years. Those same people who now want an amnesty - or a collective memory wipe - so that they are not judged as harshly as they judged others.

Those who went to shameful lengths to suppress the concerns of clinical professionals like Aaron, in order to promote flaky strategies and products that have proven every warning true, should be bought to justice. The fact that there's no political or judicial will to do so speaks volumes.
