Published in 2005, but still relevant today, maybe even more so. I recently read Thought Police and Death of Right and Wrong as well, and I highly recommend Tammy Bruce's books to anyone who is wondering about our culture shift - especially those who thought of themselves as feminists or liberals in the past. Well written, historical, instructional and enlightening. Thank you, Tammy Bruce.

I expected this book to be as hard hitting as "Death of Right and Wrong" with the same kind of examples and documentation, but I was dissapointed. There's a lot of "ra ra" stuff up front, and when we get to the meat there was very little that I didn't already know about since I've been reading political blogs since before the 2004 election and am quite up-to-date on what Tammy and other "classical liberals" (conservatives by today's standards) have been thinking and writing about.
This would probably be a good "first Tammy Bruce" book for a lot of people.
At least I'm reviewing her book and not her politics.

If you are not paying attention to Tammy Bruce and her mentor, David Horowitz, you should be. Whether you come from a right- or left- leaning perspective, you will want to know when the new battle begins, and for my money, Tammy has her eye on the ball.
Like many others, I became acquainted with this incredible woman through her first book, "The New Thought Police". Her arguments about the left's attempt to shut down democratic dialogue (borne from her own experience as LA's NOW chairperson, and as a feminist and lesbian activist with her own talk show) really hit home for this Ann Arbor native. According to Ms. Bruce in presentations since publication of this book, "The New American Revolution" builds on material lain by her first two books, "TNTP" and "The Death of Right and Wrong". Therein lies my only criticism of the book...it does seem to presuppose the reader is a supporter of Ms. Bruce's theories, and does not do as terrific a job of explaining the classical liberalism that underlies all of her writing as does her first book (I have not read the second, and so cannot comment on that).
That being said, there are a lot of us who do agree with Ms. Bruce on most salient points, and who see our ideas and political parties being hijacked by people who want to pull them to either the left or right extreme. For us, this treatise on the individual as self- and neighborhood protector is good reading.

Everyone's favorite Gun-toting, Military-supporting, Reagan (and Clinton) and GW Bush-voting, Lesbian, Feminist, pro-Abortion Rights, ex-President of NOW is back with her (I think) third book. She is once again fearlessly telling it like is. I might not see eye-to-eye with Ms. Bruce on every last issue - but no one can deny that her opinions are her own. She isn't mindlessly mimicing any party line or special interest agenda. She is speaking honestly and passionately on issues that are important to her and all Americans. Once again - great job Tammy!

If you were to look inside my heart and mind on the concept of what is going on in American politics you would see her words. I unfortanely do not have the gift of putting my thoughts on paper and feel so blessed that I have found her work to do so. Thank you so much Tami and God bless you and God bless the USA!

"Democrats wake up and see what they've done to our party!" This is the message in The New American Revolution by Tammy Bruce. Ms. Bruce, a Democrat who has become entirely disgusted by the leaders of the new Democratic party, finds it hard to excuse other Democrats for not rejecting the hate filled rhetoric of its leaders.
Unlike the Democrats of the past, the current leaders of the party are anti-American leftist who show by their words and deeds that they want America to lose the war on terror. They pit one group against another, and seem to want bad things to happen to our country. They are socialists who despise capitalism, big business and individualism. They constantly disrespect the office of the President as they show utter contempt for George W. Bush. They have abandoned classic liberalism for a far left version that bears no resemblance to the liberalism of Roosevelt, Truman or Jack Kennedy.
As a feminist and former President of NOW in Los Angeles, Ms. Bruce speaks with a perspective forged from inside the conclaves of modern liberalism. She admits to having gone along with their radical ideas and tactics for far too long. As it did for so many American, 9/11 was her wake-up call. She began to question the goals of the left and disagree with their hate filled mentality. She writes of how the left use charges of racism, homophobia, and bigotry to silence anyone who disagrees with them. As a lesbian and a feminist Ms. Bruce writes with authenticity and inside knowledge of how the left operates. Reading her book you will find out how the left uses the mainstream media and how the media is all too willing to partner with them to advance their agenda.
She writes about the left's drive to ban guns. Find out how the media distorts the news to convince Americans they would be safer if all guns were banned. Find out what happened in Great Britain and other countries when they confiscated all guns.
All of the things that has made America the most prosperous, the most generous, and the freest nation in the history of the planet are the things that the far left want to eradicate. They attack religion, undermine our military, and they hate capitalism. They want bigger government, redistribution of wealth, and always higher taxes.
Ms. Bruce describes how the individual spirit that Americans embody is reclaiming our heritage from those who what to destroy it. You will find out how individual Americans are making a difference everyday and what you can do to counter the left's agenda.
I believe that any person (especially Democrats) who love this country, owes it to themselves to read The New American Revolution. If you have gone along with the Democrats just because you always have, you need to wake up to how these new Democrats are hurting our country. If you will read this book with an open mind, you will be transformed. Tammy Bruce is an articulate and persuasive author armed with the truth and first hand experience.

Great reading on another of her books. Sometimes I wish I was
a U.S. citizen because I love guns and would love to be able to pack
a .38 snub nose revolver with me wherever I go here in Huntsville.
It is clear to me for the past 30 years that individualism rules, but
mysticism does have it's place in terms of human relations.
The internet has already broken up older personal American citizen interrelations
into loosely coinciding social aggregates, forming new ones and providing an intellectual, but useful
information interchange platform which unifies opinions of a quasi political nature
in so doing propagating the nuances of their permanent records on the internet, yet keeps the modus
operandi of a continual semi organized political stale mate which has alway been
at the heart of U.S. electoral politics and peace with a loaded gun, for posterity.
