Slick sole

I bought these to use as a walking shoe and they fit great! They look great and they are comfortable. The only downside that I wish wasn't a part of this shoe is the slick tread on the bottom. On normal pavement it's no big deal, but on wet pavement these shoes are like skates. Climbing steep hills like we have in Seattle on wet pavement is really tricky with these shoes. I've come close to wiping out several times and now I don't even bother putting them on if it's wet or even slightly damp.

I've been wearing New Balance shoes for more than 20 years and have yet to be disappointed. Some models/styles are better than others but I've never had a shoe fail on me (knock on wood). I've owned several iterations of the 410s and they all have been great. I don't always agree with the aesthetic choices or colors, but that's not the main reason I keep buying them. New Balance shoes fit my feet and provide a terrific balance of comfort, support and performance.

These are good shoes for a good price. I would have given theses shoes 5 stars but the “cushion comfort” soles are thinner than a paper plate. With insoles, the shoes are very comfortable.

Have been using New Balance 624 version 2 to version 4 for some 8 years. But did not like version 5 because this present version uses a much cheaper leather for the upper outer; so poor a quality in fact that I serously think it is systhetic PU "leather" which means my feet won't be able to breath.
A hunt for 4E (extra wide fit) shoes found this on Amazon US site.
This 410 says it is extra wide but feels like 3E rather than 4E wide. However, I chose this shoe because it will allow the feet to breath instead of inside PU covered shoe; and the fact that the upper outer is fabric would suggest the fabric would be easy to stretch at the bunion.

I ordered a UK 7.5 Wide fitting shoe, they sent me a US 7.5 4E (UK 7). - They were a borderline tight fit (a little too snug) - so gave the benefit of the doubt, to see if they would run in better, but after 2 runs, still not very happy.
Also, although the heel is well cushioned - sole is NOT. Can't return them now. Wish I could though.
Wish UK brands would do the wide fit in all sizes!
