CONS: Sadly, a big one: the strap is far too short.
We needed wide, z-strap shoes leaving our options limited. I knew going in that the straps had issues. Received the shoes today. Clearly a basic engineering/manufacturing problem.
The shoes are built wide but the z-strap hasn't been adjusted to accommodate the wider size. The strap has been plunked on from a regular shoe fit. We loosened the strap to get it to fit on the foot but could only get it to secure across the top of the foot by tightening the strap waaaay up. Basically making the wider size moot because it's pinching and pulling across the widest part of the foot again.
Otherwise, without the strap issues, it's a good fit. No heel rubbing. No pinching across the width.
For the price I paid for these children's shoes--sad to see New Balance skin-flinting on the strap! If I'm gonna purchase corner-cutting shoes I'll go to a cheap discount store for one-third the price.

These are the worst shoes ever. Granted my child could be used as a beta tester for shoes, but the first time we bought these, they fell apart within a week. Read morePublished 15 months ago by co longhorn

Quality construction for a kid's running shoe. My 3 year old loves them!Published 16 months ago by StL Mom
The only problem we had with the shoe was my son had a growth spurt and out grew them in 3 months. They were still on good shape at the time, despite him wearing them all the time.Published 17 months ago by JSM
worn/rip too fast for kid. I expected them to last much more but look like typical kid shoe. Few weeks and either rip or bottom sole open. Cheap glue.Published 18 months ago by Amazon Customer
We had the advantage of my son trying on NB shoes in the store for size, then ordering the specific shoe that he wanted for style/color.Published 18 months ago by Smith
Quality very poor ..fell apart in 3 places with normal wear and New Balance refused to take them back. Amazon not responsible, faulty workmanship.Published 19 months ago by S. mclain
