Now, about the cushioning. Woo boy, I don't think I've quite felt a shoe that is both extremely cushioned and supportive at the same time. A lot of shoes claim to be this, but this is just... special. I can't feel the ground underneath my feet as a walk, there's a ton of spring to this shoe, but it feels solid. The fit is really nice too, I have wide feet and after the first day the mesh upper has stretched to feel very comfortable.
Lastly, I'm a big guy. 250 pounds. And these shoes hold up very nicely, the cushioning seems to be holding up well.
Overall I'm completely satisfied. I thought it couldn't get much better than Ultraboosts, but I can genuinely say I enjoy wearing these more.
Oh, did I mention how freaking awesome they look?
**Update** after a year, they're still holding up nicely with my weight and there's little to no foot pain after 9 hour shifts. Couldn't be happier.

My first impressions were if concern. The heel feels like it's going to irritate and possibly blister, but when running it proves to be no issue. The upper is a nice kind of knit material common of many shoes nowadays. The cushioning feels great out of the box.
The 1080v9's are very much long run , recovery comfort shoes. You could use them for speed work, but there are better shoes out there.
I am writing this after a 22 Mike run this morning and I am very happy with the shoes. For the whole run my feet felt great. There were no hotspots or areas of discomfort. In fact at the end of the run, my legs were a little battered, but my feet felt fine. I am now considering a 2nd pair as spares.
I will update this review when I hit a 150 miles plus, where I can gain a good insight into their durability.
I have bi-lateral plantar fasciitis and heel spurs, for years I've worn trainers with orthotic insoles, not really comfortable, but the only way I could walk. After 15 years or so, this combination seemed to not work anymore, giving me more pain than it solved. Looking for solutions, I came across cushioned running shoes and specifically these 1080v9s.
I cannot believe how pain free my feet are when walking, I still can't stand still for more than a few minutes, but walking is fabulous. I actually got quite emotional about being out and about without pain, wearing great looking shoes with no silly insoles. It's a game changer, I feel like dancing, in fact I often do if I think I won't be seen. I feel a little bit normal again. Thank you New Balance, I love these trainers!!!
