The 870v3 continues to deliver on mild stability, in a REVlite, bold ride. An 8mm offset and extended crash pad into midstance ensures heel strikes and midfoot strikes will start off smoothly into a blown rubber forefoot. The upper is finessed and evolved into a combination welded, mono mesh package that feels nearly invisible to the foot.

I'm a 30 year runner, intermediate to advanced with 60 races behind me. I'm currently running 25-30 miles per week including tempo, speed, and a longer run on Sundays. I've trained exclusively in New Balance for the past 10 years, preferring their full stability line including the 470, 1224, and others. My last pair, 860 v3 were somewhat disappointing.
I would describe my foot as unremarkable. Not wide nor narrow. I have been accustomed to the full support of a stability shoe so I did worry about the 8mm drop. Straight out of the box, these shoes felt like home. Ample toe box, a comfortable wrap, and a cushioned mid-foot strike that really surprised me. These shoes are very light, compared to what I've been running in. The 870s reminded me of my racing flats and I agree with other comments about these shoes feeling "fast".
On the road, they continue to impress. For both street and park trails, they preform superbly. I have not taken them for a run over 15 miles yet but for all distance under, the 860s stand out as my favorite shoes of memory. The 10.5 D US fit is true for me. These are the first shoes I've considered purchasing multiple pairs.
The first pair lasted over a year with 1K+ miles on the elliptical and 3 cycles of P90X. They got quite the workout to say the least.
I still have my first pair and besides a few small tears on the fabric, I'm still able to use them as my gardening/car washing/etc shoes. The only thing that wore out were the inserts, but those can be replaced very cheaply.
If you're looking for a great pair of running/workout/crossfit/P90X shoes, these are a great pair. Plus they're MADE IN USA, the very reason I switched to New Balance after being a lifelong Nike customer. Now 32 years old, I'm tired of complaining about Chinese made products and do everything I can to buy American made products. I hope you'll do the same.
Back to the shoe picked them up because I got some stress fractures from wearing vibrams and needed to go back to some cushioning. They are lightweight have good road feel and seem like good arch support, my feet are flat so I have never had a problem there.
