Extra Wide Golf Shoe Almost Perfect

The shoes fit as I expected for extra wide. I like the New Balance brand and have been wearing their athletic shoes for years. They used to be made in the US, which was a plus in my book. However, they are now made in China. I have trouble finding wide golf shoes and this brand solves that problem. I have bought Footjoy brand in 2W for years and thought I would try a familiar brand for a change. HOWEVER, their Champ cleat system leaves a lot to be desired. I removed one cleat to check on its availability in my local store. I could not get the spike back in without striping the cheap thread. I tried to use a Fast Twist type spike that most golf shoes use, but it did not fit. Also, these Champ spikes are not easily found in stores. UPDATE: The replacement spikes can be bought at Dick's Sporting Goods.

I would have rated the shoes a 5 stars except for the type of spikes used. They need to abandon Champ and go to Softspikes fast twist brand. I'm sending a copy of this review to New Balance also..

Most Comfortable Golf Shoes Ever!

I've been having feet problems/swelling for a couple of years now and have been holding off on buying new shoes until we got everything straightened out. My podiatrist recommended New Balance shoes as they have actual widths instead of simply wide or extra wide. I went to a local New Balance outlet, who took actual measurements and put me in a 9-1/2 EEEE. They were great so I mentioned that I needed golf shoes as well. This store didn't stock them so I went on-line to see what I could find.

When I found these, I ordered the same size 9-1/2 EEEE and when they arrived, they were too small, so I went up a 1/2 size to 10 EEEE. Perfect! My feet hadn't felt so good after a round of golf in years. Amazon's return and reship policy worked exactly as expected as well - quickly and accurately.

So while there was a small glitch, it was quickly corrected to my satisfaction and all is well.

These are good everyday golf sneakers. Brands like Ecco and Footjoy make a much nicer real golf shoe, but this one is hard to beat for the price. I suspected as much but the term "Premium waterproof microfiber leather upper" is misleading. These have no leather whatsoever - they are all vinyl uppers and don't breathe very well. They feel "cheap" but they are comfortable and available in a very wide range of sizes (I wear a 164E - impossible to find elsewhere unless you go custom with MyJoys). Also these have removable spikes that a lot of companies are going away from. They use the popular Tri-Loc system ( Champ Scorpion Stinger Tri-Lok for FootJoy Golf Shoes ) which are pretty easy to find.

I've been wearing only New Balance shoes for the last several years because they offer great support and comfort. Very pleasantly surprised to find out they make a golf shoe!! Never would've guessed. I've been measured as about a 10 and a quarter medium, so wasn't sure if a 10 would be too small. Happy to say they fit perfectly, especially in the width, and that's why I said they fit "somewhat large", but certainly not too large. If you wear a normal size 10 you should be fine. If you don't already know, never buy golf shoes that are too tight. I found this out the hard way. Do yourself and your feet a favor and buy these shoes!!! As always, Amazon's service is fantastic with very fast delivery.

Although I liked the look of the Calloway Balboa TRX shoe better, this was the most comfortable pair I tried of all 6 pairs I got. The 10.5 2E fit my fairly wide foot like a glove, and they are well made and VERY comfortable. I have not yet used them on the course, but I suspect they'll be great. I do prefer a more "traditional" looking golf shoe, and these look more like sneakers, but they are so comfortable that I decided to keep them.

This is the first golf shoe I have found over many years that claims to be a wide fitting and really is ! it comes with a width classification such as 2E 4E et cetera that gives a set width dimension . Not only , they are extremely comfortable and offered great support they are not cheap but so far I think the cost is justifiable for someone who has wide feet.
