This one had me laughing myself silly on more than one occasion. It kills me to admit that Dora and Tim are around my age and I could relate to some degree. There are a few over-the-top moments, but, hey, it's a comedy, right? Initially, I found myself irritated at Dora for her irrational behavior, but then remembered that I have acted similarly while the rest of my family shook their heads in confusion and exasperation. Maybe I have more of a love/hate relationship with this story, because Andie Long hit a little bit too close to home. haha!
When Dora is sick and feels underappreciated, she decides to take off to a resort and learn tennis. When Tim realizes that Dora has left, he's livid and refuses to indulge her constant tantrums.
The lack of communication between Dora and Tim lead to some of the funniest parts of this book. From Dora taking off to Tim reading BDSM romance novels to find out what Dora likes, these shenanigans had me laughing so hard I could barely see my kindle.
I'm loving this series and I can't wait to see what's next for this group!!
Dora, 45 years old, believes that nobody in her family cares about her. Not her partner, nor their adult children. As an avid reader, she relies on her self-help books. Trying to find a solution, she follows one book's advice and decides to leave the house to take a vacation. While it's already clear that Dora is a handful, her partner Tim is the one who shines in this book. Since apparently there is no book for how to handle manipulative women, he looks in her library to see what she reads about the most – and decides to become an alpha male! In the meantime, another book instructs Dora on how to be a submissive wife that her man would cherish...
Many couples all over the world go through this type of crisis. Dora and Tim's experience is a humorous take on that situation. Don't miss it!
