The book is smaller than most, with only 93 pages, but has some very nice illustrations and photos. The topics covered include: Buying Goats; Housing and Equipment; Feeding; Care and Management; Health Maintenance and Sickness; Breeding and Raising Young; Goat Products; and Goat Breeds of the World.
All in all this is an ok book, but should not be the primary resource for someone entering into raising goats.
I first want the goats to help clear about 7 acres of thick woods and brush after that I would like to start milking. Just enough for family and friends when they stop by. This book didn't get me any closer to the knowledge level I would like to be at to start either of these projects. It assumes that the reader knows more than he or she probably does in some sections then breaks things down to the most dull basic level in others.

It's not to say this is not a good book, the authors have immense experience and understand the veterinary side of goats very well but as someone looking with a view to keeping goats as pets I found the other book to be a more useful and engaging read.
