Editorial Reviews
In 1988 New Jersey spent 4 straight weeks at No. 1 in the U.S. and spawned five Top 10 singles ('Bad Medicine;' 'Born To Be My Baby;' 'I'll Be There For You;' 'Living In Sin;' and 'Lay Your Hands On Me') - the only rock album in history with that many Top 10 hits. Bon Jovi originally envisioned the New Jersey project as a double-LP, using the working title Sons Of Beaches. But in the end, Mercury Records released the album as a 12-track single LP and the band renamed it simply New Jersey, in honor of their home state. With this Deluxe Edition, the New Jersey originally imagined by Bon Jovi can finally be shared with fans.

The first disc of this 3-disc set (2-CD/1-DVD) features the re-mastered original album plus three bonus tracks. The second CD features the 13 Sons Of Beaches demos from the New Jersey recording sessions, remixed exclusively for this project. The third disc is a DVD with the 88 minute, behind-the-scenes documentary 'Access All Areas: A Rock & Roll Odyssey' that has never before been available on DVD, plus 7 official music videos commissioned for the New Jersey album.
Topping off this Super Deluxe edition is a 60-page book including rare and never before seen images of the band from the New Jersey era; images and memorabilia from the New Jersey world tour; insider commentary on the bonus tracks and much more.

This is the 1988 number #1 album that cemented Bon Jovi as rock superstars!
After Slippery when wet, the bands next release is a true gem! Nothing on this album falls short of it's reputation as being Bon Jovi's finest album in the late 80s pop metal era. Songs such as blood on blood will really touch you and who can forget the number 1 smash hit 'I'll be there for you.'
Jon Bon jovi 's voice on this album is so classic..by listening to the songs homebound train, i'll be there for you and living in sin, there are vocal parts of those songs where i believe he was doing some very high falsetto vocals. This is his voice at his finest or vocal peak.
As for this listing, i always thought that these bon jovi 2 cd japan releases were only available as used cds, i was wrong! i bought this here in amazon from a great seller and got this album totally brand new even though it is very rare and out-of-print.
Disc 1 we have the remastered version of the album.
Disc 2 we get the bonus cd of these tracks; 1) Bad medicine (Live Wembley 1988),
2) Bad Medicine (Live Keep The Faith Tour), 3) Blood On Blood (Live Wembley 1988), 4) Born To Be My Baby (Acoustic Version), 5) I'll Be There For You (Live Lakeland 1989), 6) Lay Your Hands On Me (Live Giants Stadium 1989) & 7) Love Is War (Studio Outtake).
Disc 2 is a keeper! Get this because it is one of the most essential albums you must have in your collection especially if it is a japan released version!
There are only a few left being sold, so what are you waiting for?? Buy It!
My favorite part however has to be the DVD, it takes you back in time, behind the scenes and high strung emotions from everyone, as though you were really part of the band, detailing (in part) of the actions and work it takes to run a concert, sleepless nights, countless dressing room scenes and interviews, and all the magic in their hearts of what makes them great.
The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because of the disappointing photo book (the main reason why I went with the more expensive edition). Its suppose to have "Never before seen" photos and all it was full of was promo pictures you could find anywhere, none that were really special and a lot of the good pictures were small. That is literally the only setback with the whole set.
Other than that, I think its a great addition for any Bon Jovi Fan

Original CD brings back the original 1980's sound... did have it on cd back in the day but my original disc disappeared in the 90's... just got sick of crossroads.
New Jersey is the album in between slippery when wet (1986) & keep the faith (1993) which I already have... great albums on a long motorway journey along with def leppard, saxon, iron maiden, Metallica, ZZ top, etc.
