I bought this after seeing a video on YouTube demonstrating the features. I had recently been struggling with sewing dozens of squares on the diagonal and this product made it look so easy to align and sew without having to "eyeball" the alignment. The template adheres to the sewing table by static, there is no adhesive involved so it can removed, repositioned, and replaced over and over. The only problem is that it sticks to smooth surfaces but not other surfaces. I have a Bernina and their sewing table has a pebbled surface so unfortunately this template won't stick to it!
I also an Elna that does have a smooth surface so this template works great on that machine. If the template will stick to your sewing surface then it's great for aligning on a 45 degree and it also has an extended centerline to help with alignment. It works as advertised and makes these situations simple and easy.
Check for a smooth surface before you buy and you will get good use of this template!
