About the Author

Jon C. Stott has been studying beer in a very non-academic, non-scientific way for over half a century and is the author of Beer Quest West: The Craft Brewers of Alberta and British Columbia." His blog www.beerquestwest.com includes essays about breweries and brewers and tasting notes. After wintering in Albuquerque, avoiding the cold Canadian weather, he moved there permanently in 2013. He is the author of more than a dozen books."

Having lived in the Land of Enchantment from 2011-2013, I can attest to the area's high quality beer options. It seemed like a new brewery was opening every quarter. And of course, in such a small-town-State, it was easy to hear about them all without having to be a total beer aficionado. I liked learning about the major players like Santa Fe Brewing and Marble.

Living in Albuquerque I know about the "beer boom" that seems to be increasing weekly. However, not having the time I want to visit all the different breweries and tap houses here in New Mexico, makes me a little more picky as to where I go. That being the case, the essays in this book spell out the atmosphere and different brews available at the selected places so I can do a little research before spending the time and money driving around the state visiting the different beers.
The book is a quick read, nice reference, and the history at the beginning is pretty fascinating!
