However, this book just seems like a mish-mash of recipes. There is no unifying factor. There are some fine dining restaurants and a bizarre selection of small restaurants. Even though this book is not very old, a number of profiled restaurants are out of business.
If this book were more focused, it would be much better. There's a lot about food in New Orleans, and it certainly can't be covered in its entirety in less than 200 pages.
