A philosopher at the Claremont School of Theology, Griffin scrutinizes the time line and physical evidence of September 11 for unresolved inconsistencies. Griffin draws heavily on three similarly skeptical examinations, by Nafeez Ahmed, Paul Thompson and Thierry Meyssan, whose The Big Lie was a bestseller in France, and which the New Republic has called "thinâ"and thinly argued." Based on these sources, Griffin maintains that a full investigation of the events of that tragic day is necessary to answer such questions as whether American Airlines Flight 77 did crash into the Pentagon (though many will find it impossible to doubt this) and how United Airlines Flight 93 was downed. He claims that if standard procedures for scrambling fighter jets had been followed, the hijacked planes should have been intercepted in time, and that structurally, the collapse of the World Trade Center towers most likely was caused by explosives placed throughout the towers, not from the plane crashes. He strongly implies that the Bush administration had foreknowledge of the attack and sought to conceal what Griffin suggests was the Pakistani intelligence agency's involvement in the planning for the attacks. His analysis is undergirded by the theory that a significant external threat, on the scale of Pearl Harbor, was very much in the interest of the Bush administration, which he believes is intent on self-interested aggressive foreign policies. Even many Bush opponents will find these charges ridiculous, though conspiracy theorists may be haunted by the suspicion that we know less than we think we do about that fateful day.

In the same way as 9/11 Mysteries, the author carefully goes through accounts put forward by the Bush administration (or those close to it) and compares them to the accounts provided by other witnesses. Gradually, and systematically, he examines all the contradictions between different accounts. As a result, he persuasively argues that the Bush administration, and sympathetic news corporations, add to confusion rather than clarity.
In a compelling penultimate chapter, he reviews what a person would need to believe for a theory of 'incompetence' by the Bush administration to be sustainable. This is followed by a similar review of 'coincidence' as a plausible theory for the events of 9/11. In both cases, he shows how these theoretical positions are much more problematic (and difficult to believe) than a theory of 'complicity' by the Bush administration.
The language here is important. For Griffin, any theory involving people working together to attack the US on 9/11 is a 'conspiracy theory'. As he points out, the public are faced with choosing between believing a conspiracy theory put out by US government officials (involving 19 Islamic terrorists), and alternative conspiracy theories put out by its "critics" (theorising varying level of complicity by members of the Bush administration). The issue, therefore, is not whether there was a conspiracy or not, but whose conspiracy theory is more believable.
By following the evidence, Griffin makes the case for a full public inquiry.

Thank you for a wonderful book & excellent shipping service!
sadly, anybooks that aren't cheerleading for the bush family/empire, don't get read by those that really should. but as long as one person reads this, tells a friend/family member/loved one, and gets them interested to read it on their own, then it is doing it's job. from the reviews i read, i knew this was the best book out there concerning this subject.
comments like "farenheit 9/11 didn't cover it all", there is no way he could of put this much researched fact, and frankly, scary/damning info into his movie. look what troubles he went through to release his movie! and that was not even the tip of the iceberg, it was a photograph of the iceberg's tip from a "space domination" satellite.
there really isn't anything i can say that hasn't already been said by other loving readers/citizen investigators/lovers of truth. but i will say i tip my hat to mr. griffin, for every other page/paragraph has me pausing in horror, laughing at the genius of the disception, and sad to see that so many have been so fooled. david ray griffin, i love you for doing such an official/professional look at this subject. armed with this and

question: how does a plane fit into an 15-18 ft. hole on the side of the pentagon?
answer: it doesn't
