I enjoyed this story a lot. At time I did feel that it was dragged out a little longer than it should have been but not bad. You are drawn in to this story and you can't put this one down. Stella just takes you and when you add Zoe in the mix these two explode off the pages. Aww we can't forget Blake, alpha man that you love but want to walk up to and tell him to get his crap together! Blake and Stella push their feeling for each other aside till they can't anymore. Zoe goes through an event that pushes Stella and Blake together. They fight against the draw that both have and do some pretty harsh things to each other. The road they all find themselves on brings you to your knees and has you wondering can they find the happiness they deserve.
One read you can't put down!
When Zoe Baker moved to New Point, it was her fresh start. Goodbye old life, hello new beginnings. The comfort of knowing that no one knew her past and secrets is what Zoe craved. She doesn’t want pity and recognition. She just wants to be normal. So when she meets sexy new neighbor, Miles Wilson, Zoe finally begins to feel. New feelings begins to emerge. Slowly Miles was able to breathe life into Zoe. Happiness begins to surface. Miles was Zoe’s fresh new start and hope. She found comfort and safety in Miles. As the couple begins to get serious, will Zoe be fully able to let go and let Miles in? Will she finally able to reveal her secrets and past? Or will Zoe’s fears push Miles away? Or will they reach a NEW POINT in their relationship?
Olivia Luck did an amazing job in New Point. She took her readers on a journey of a woman rediscovering her strength that she once thought she lost. It is a story of rebuilding your life and picking up the broken pieces. The journey may not be easy but with the help from family and friends, it can be done. Ms. Luck reminds her readers to not be afraid to get help even if it means getting therapy. A fresh new start begins taking the first step and for Zoe Baker, she did just that. So if you are looking for book that incorporates romance and second chances, then go read NEW POINT.
I was really interested in reading this at first but I just wasn't feeling it half the time. It started out really good but then it just seemed to annoy me, honestly.
Zoe was a hard character to like because she was kind of all over the place ever since a traumatic event happened months ago. But her behavior is understandable at times because some people truly do get terrified after having a gun pointed at you. What got to me was her wanting honesty from people yet she's keeping a big secret from everyone else. She came off as a hypocrite.
Blake, her brother, was a nice addition to the story though. He cares for her and is protective. I would have liked seeing more of him.
Miles saved the book for me after he was (acting like a child) seeing red for a scene in the book. He was super sweet and I liked him. Especially the messages he leaves in the sand for Zoe. One problem I can't get over is that I didn't know how old he was until some time passed. I'm pretty sure he's 29. And I think Zoe is twenty-four. I'm not so sure on Blake. The ages weren't really detailed or I'm just an idiot and didn't get it but I think he's ten years older than Zoe.
I don't know. I wish I could have enjoyed it more. It has a lot of promise. The beginning was really good so maybe someone else will like this.
It is a standalone novel but the first in a series that will focus on other connecting couples.
Zoe and Miles struggle with trust issues. She tries to keep him from learning about the madman in Chicago that she dealt with. She wants a clean slate, but she is still having nightmares and anxiety attacks. He wants her to trust him, to talk to him about things, but she can't. When the past comes back and finds her in New Point, Zoe's life is on the line again. She is an extremely courageous woman.
This book was about second chances, starting over, and learning to trust. Very well written with deep emotions and lovable characters. I am looking forward to the next book!
