Got a half sheet, rinsed it off and wiped it dry. We used it to make cookies. I added a little oil to the sheet and the cookies turned out great. afterwards, I wiped three sheet to get the grease off and noticed the papertowel was gray dark. I don't know what this is, or if you are supposed to prepare this sheet before using, but I really don't like three idea of some metal or whatever the gray stuff is on my food. It's this safe? Is it supposed to be like this?

I was looking at half sheet pans and realized it wouldn't cover enough area. But I was pretty sure a full sheet pan would be too big. When I searched out the full size, this entry for the 2/3 size came up. It seemed perfect -- AND IT IS.
The kids know that it stays in the oven always and pizzas or whatever get cooked on the top rack above it. If drips of cheese or sauce happen, they land on the sheet. It gives as much coverage as possible on the bottom rack without being too big, and sidesteps all the issues with the non stick oven liners.

I was considering a nonstick oven liner to help keep my brand new oven clean.
