Jonathan does a great job of translating the New Testament accurately, despite our mainstream beliefs. Few translations do this. Instead, they bow to our common belief system and use it as their guide for translation. Unfortunately, that makes for a lot of translations that have several mistakes. If there's one thing we've learned, it's that no denomination has all the right beliefs. So, from which denomination's beliefs do we translate to get an accurate rendering? None. We do our best to truly figure out the culture of the people who wrote the New Testament and the sayings of the Ancient Greek language and then translate the manuscripts accordingly as best we can. Few, if anyone, will translate it 100% correctly. Jonathan does an excellent job, though, especially since he gives multiple renderings right in the middle of the texts.
This NT rendering is best used for a study Bible rather than one you'd use for reading straight through chapters. However, if one conditions him or her self to read only the bolded text, one can read through this reasonably well.
Mr. Mitchell gives us Greek-reading wannabe's a tool which doesn't require a profound knowledge of Greek, a stack of translation aids and hundreds of hours of study. It's the ultimate Greek cheat sheet. I know because I tried to learn Greek three times and it never stuck, but now I have what I wished I had 40 years ago.
Blessing and deepest thanks to you Mr. Mitchell!
