Top customer reviews
The trident packs vivid bright LED indicators to show the battery life of the charger. This is a welcome addition to the New Trent family, which has featured generally smaller side LED indicators. Another welcomed feature is a charging USB cable built into the side of the charger, along with a mini USB. The charger also features two USB ports for added convenience of charging multiple devices at the same time.
The New Trent Trident adds a little weight over previous models, but also packs a big battery to supplement this. The block rectangle charger however is still convenient on the go. I have found that when taking this with me, it fits nicely into added pockets of cargo shorts.
The Trident will get you through the day and some, and it does this fast and efficient. I found that recharging my iPhone was zippy and only took minimal off the charge of the unit. The reason I give this a 4.5 is the lack of an Apple charger with the unit. A retractable iPhone charger cable built into this unit would be the icing on the cake. However, the two USB ports work nicely with your own data cables.
You can't go wrong with this charger for Apple and non-Apple users. This charger will give a great boost to your devices to get through the day. This is also a very handy device during times of losing power or traveling. With an addition of a retractable Apple compatible cable and a slightly slimmer fit, this device would easily be a 5/5. But don't let it defer you, this is still one of the best portable chargers on the market.
It seems to be well built as it was in my backpack for an entire trip and I did not run into any problems. The size is a huge plus as it could easily fit in your pocket if you are wearing cargo pants or something similar. The instructions were a bit vague but it was easy enough to figure out and go from there. Then you have the battery meter which is great for letting you know how much charge you have left.
Overall I cannot think of any negatives really. I would like to have a percent of battery left indicated somewhere but I think that would require a whole new screen and would raise the cost. I have to give this 5 stars and have been recommending it to anyone that will listen!
This helps me get through a trip without my phone and ipad dying and actualy reduces the of clutter and weight I need to carry.
I like the integrated cords since I already have a lot of chargers and cords to carry.
With this device I can take my igo charger for my laptop, use that to charge this brick and then leave all the other chargers at home. I still need my BB cord if I tether my laptop, and the ipad cord.
It also has high current ports which give a proper charge to iphones (1A, newer BB .875A, and the IPAD (1+ amps).
You can charge it off you laptop high power usb if you don't have a charger with a USB port. It does take a while to charge, but that's to be expected
The big battery meter is a little hokey, but I suppose that's a matter of taste.
Recharges my phone 3x before needing a recharge. So now I can go all day, running the phone down like crazy and just recharge this external battery overnight. It's fairly light, but a bit bulky. I carry it in my soft-side briefcase easily.
I'm going to try some velcro straps to keep the phone attached. The only down side is the very short power cable to the phone. But that cable & the charging cable are both built in. Very handy. Glad I bought it.
I have a pair of small Logitech USB powered speakers; apparently, they don't draw enough juice to keep the battery pack switched on. After a few minutes of listening to music, the battery pack turns off. I suppose a solution is to simultaneously charge my phone while listening to the music, that might keep it awake.
