Watch out for this, it's time has run out
on December 1, 2012
I purchased this watch for my boyfriend as a gift. First off, it came low on charge. It took several days to get it to charge up far enough to even attempt having it set its own time. It doesn't seem to charge much, if at all, by lights of any kind. Sunlight has the best chance of charging it, but even now, its been sitting on a window sill under the sun for days and still isn't above half charge.
This is an annoying enough problem however... Even if you have enough charge, often automatically setting time just fails. It fails enough such that the watch is often off in time (its not a very accurate movement so if it can't re-calibrate its off pretty bad).
On top of that eventually this watch began setting itself to the wrong time entirely. Yes we made sure the timezone was set properly, the watch just became defective. We ended up returning it for a new one. The new one had all the same problems with charging, and failing to set itself. My boyfriend used the watch for quite some time however eventually the charge on the new one ran out, and after some effort getting it charged up above half again, the same problem occured again. So currently this watch is useless, its never charged enough and sets itself to a completely incorrect time.
Its a shame because the watch feels sturdy, and looks very nice. The way the solar panels are part of the design is cool. However it honestly has been a pain in the ass, and now completely doesn't function.
