After the problems that are happening with China manufactured jerky treats for pets, (See FDA Fact Sheet [...] and FDA Q&A [...] I have checked all my pet's foods as to where they are made, and found Newman's Own Organic Beef & Liver is a "Product of Uruguay".

I am done risking my pet's health with foreign manufactured food products.

Some of your dog foods are made in the USA, like Newman's Chicken & Rice (B000VK339Y and says so on the Amazon website, but Newman's Beef & Liver leaves out where it is made. If your proud of making your product in Uruguay, you ought to advertise it as such on the Amazon website, i.e., "Made in Uruguay", like you show "Made in USA" on your Chicken and Rice.

Please make your pet food products in the USA, where the manufacturing process is better regulated, and creates jobs in the USA. In the future I will be sure to only order your pet food products that are made in the USA.

Please indicate on ALL your pet food products on the Amazon websites, where they are made, to allow the consumer the ability to select pet foods made in the USA.

Amazon - ALL food products, both human and pet, should list country where grown (where applicable) and manufactured, so that the consumer is better informed, like going to the store and looking at the label. To have products like this pet food, list "Made in USA" on one selection, but leave off point of production in another selection on the same page, because it is "Made is Uruguay" is wrong, and does not rise to the high standards that I've come to enjoy and rely upon from shopping at Amazon.

Thank you.

140 pound Alaskan Malamutes are not supposed to be finicky eaters. Yeah, right. Tell that to my boy, Havok! During the day, he is a rough, tough powerful wolf-like beast that fears nothing! But, come lunch and dinner time, the most pampered poodle is more wolf-like than he is. He shudders at Alpo, is repulsed by Purina and Pedigree gives him nightmares. I have tried the higher-priced, gourmet and health foods - nope. Too icky, too sticky and just not tasty.
One of the stores carried a small selection of Newman's Own and, in desperation, I tried it. Havok looked at it. He smelled it. I turned and put the empty can on the ledge and, when I turned back, Havok's bowl was empty. I suspected giant mice. The next morning, I tried it again. And again, the bowl emptied as soon as I turned away. I decided to apprehend the culprit who was stealing the food right out of my dog's bowl so, at dinner, I did watched that bowl intently. And I saw it! A big grey and white head hovered briefly over the bowl and seemed to INHALE the food! Being the crackerjack investigator that I am, it only took me a moment to realize that the food thief was, in fact, Havok!
That was a year ago. Since then. I have subscribed to a monthly delivery of Newman's Own for Havok. (It is actually cheaper, having it delivered through Prime, than it is buying it at the few local stores that carry it.) And Havok still will not eat any other dog food.

I was not aware of and was not told the country of origin when I purchased a case of Newman's Own Organics Canned Dog Food.. This product is made in Uruguay not the USA!! It made both of my dogs sick with severe diarrhea. Blue Buffalo was out of stock so I thought "Newman's Own" indicated it would be a good product made in the USA. WRONG!!!

I think a lot of positive reviews here are reviewing chicken or turkey flavors which are made in US, not beef and liver which is not. I've always chosen to pay more for US made high end holistic dog food (such as Instinct, Wellness Core) for my dog. Because Newman's own is certified organic so I gave it a try for my dog to have some varieties...some theories declare that it's better to change dog food once awhile. I bought chicken and brown rice last year and it was alright, not super impressive. Despite Newman's Own's cheaper price tag, I went back to Wellness and Instinct.
This year I tried Newman's own Beef and Liver and boy was that a mistake. I would never recommend this product for the following reasons:

1)It's not made in US. It's made in Uruguay which by itself might be OK but
2)The smell is absolutely abominable. I have bought liver flavor can for my dog before, but this one smells of natural gas, literally.
3)The consistency is terrible. Some wet dog food have more gravy (e.g. Instinct, TOTW), some are more packed and have drier appearance (e.g. Wellness Core, Blue Wilderness). But this one is a solid block with the consistency of children's play dough. Not only it's difficult to spoon it up from the can, it's impossible to spread it out in your dog's bowl unless you use your fingers.
You are better off buying a high quality dry food for your dog than trying this fowl smelling can food. My dog eats anything but I would not feel right to let him eat something smells like gas. Neither would I give them to any friends' dog for those reasons mentioned. So to the trash the whole case went. I suppose I can go through the troubles of returning them since I only opened one can...sort of defeat the purpose I bought from Amazon-didn't want to deal with the time and the weight.
