The irreverent humour, the realisation that BBB (Baloney Baffles Brains) no matter what part of the universe you are in, and if you don't know what I'm talking about just ask your Eustace.
This story takes half mad scout pilot John Leeming and shoots him millions of miles into enemy territory where he crash lands and is captured. But that is just where the fun begins as he attempts to stay out of enemy hands and fails, then escapes and tries to steal a ship and fails and is put in to pokey good and proper. It's what he does next that is truly out of this world.
I have read this book a number of times since I was a kid and it remains one of my favourites. With humour reminiscent of Douglas Adams and a complete disregard for any authority figure, this book will keep you entertained the whole way through.
Recommended for anyone who wants an enjoyable light romp written with wit and intelligence. Also read the author's novel "Wasp" featuring an earthling subverting aliens in a different way.
This particular edition is large print, which is very nice for an aging set of eyes :)
