Video quality has been cleaned up a bit. But the audio tracks are now available with Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS surround mixes(original issue only had PCM 2.0). There doesn't seem to be dedicated channels for each instrument (ie: Cymbal crashes are sometimes heard through the center channel), but they did a decent job of managing to get Novello's synth pads sent to the rear speakers. Which adds a nice ambiance to certian numbers in the set list.

No new bonus features have been added. So if you already have the Blood,Sweat&Beers DVD and don't have a 5.1 system. You could probably pass on this offering.

I got this DVD because I'm a Niacin fan and it's always a treat not only to hear, but SEE Dennis Chambers in action. No fancy light show, no smoke bombs, no dry ice machine, no synchronized backup dancers, just 3 aces playing their butts off.

And for the reviewer who wrote "This is a great DVD, even though it's all instrumental", well, this is a great disc BECAUSE it's all instrumental!! Some of my favorite music is instrumental and people should never shy away because a band has no vocalist. I surely don't miss a vocalist!

This is a great DVD, even though it's all instrumental, it's smokes all the way through. Billy Sheehan is such a master of the bass guitar, very entertaining to watch. John Novello is incredible, he plays very tastefuly, if you love the Hammond organ then you'll love this DVD. Dennis Chambers is a very inspiring and gifted drummer, a true genius. The sound quality is good, I highly recommend it!!!!

Niacin hands down way cool this aggressive fusion jazz group is a group that is worth getting to know. I came across them only because of my love for Billy Sheehan and his amazing bass playing. I have almost every release with the exception of their 2000 release of "Deep." I have not found it at a good price.
Niacin is a trio comprised of Billy Sheehan (Bass) - Dennis Chambers (Drums) & John Novello (Keyboard's.) All three musicians are at the top of their prospective fields and have all worked with a list of who's who in music. What is cool is they have a sound that is much like that of Emerson, Lake & Palmer minus any vocals. Time Crunch like all their other albums is simply a brilliant music display of high energy rock, jazz fusion. My advice get them all. I loved this show!

What I mean by that remark is in reference to an old game show on television. I know that Billy is old enough to know that show, since I remember that he played with, (but I never got to see) a legendary hot band he was in called "Tallas", that played across the border in Buffalo a lot.
But, I'm also referring to the fact that even though the playing is great, the sound is fine, etc., it's frustrating to watch Billy half standing- half sitting on a stool, ready to leap to his feet at any second, which is what you wish he would do! Sure, the other two guys have to sit, so I'm gathering that it would make him feel awkward to be the only one standing, and especially moving around. But I think it would look fine, "better", in fact.
Great playing by all three, and Dennis Chambers plays one of his ridiculously insane killer solos, quickly becoming one of my favorite drummers on the planet!

Playing excellent by all three musicians! The sound of the Hammond and the Leslie alone is worth the price of this disc.It reminds me of going to see one's favorite band in a small nightclub. It's a nice, relaxing, fun time.Watch the playing!Sound is excellent on this DVD also.
