Nice Girls don’t do a lot of things. Believe me, I know… as a self proclaimed Nice Girl, there’s a lot of things we don’t do. Firstly, we don’t accept rides from strangers, not even hot, sexy, muscular, tatted, tan ones with pretty eyes. Nice girls don’t hop on motorcycle and speed to a restaurant where she hopes to catch her douche of a boyfriend (oh, now ex boyfriend) on the date he’s supposed to be on with her. Nice Girls definitely don’t knee said now ex boyfriend in the groin and pour a bottle of expensive wine in a couture bag– that belongs to her backstabbing roomie.
And Nice Girls definitely don’t make a show of giving sexy tatted man a steamy kiss in the middle of a restaurant, and then ride off with him in the sunset on the promise of a night of wild fun.
And what a night it is!
Nice Girls Don’t Ride is such a delightful departure from Roni’s usually darker, sexier prose but it’s not devoid of her skill and talent at drawing you into the story and making you feel like you’re in the room. The sex scenes are red-hot, but the more intimate scenes where Natalie and Monroe are talking and learning about each other and beginning to have ~feelings~ for each other, despite the fact that he’s about to leave town for three months… that’s what I love about reading a romance. Beginnings are beautiful to me.
This is a shortie at 100 pages, but the perfect length to whet your whistle for a fun romp with a sexy dude and a hot chick. And, as a Nice Girl who might actually ride, I found I had a lot in common with Natalie and I'm betting a lot of other readers will too!
This is a wonderfully written ebook about Natalie Bourne who just has nothing but bad luck on her side on what should be the best day of her life. Little does she know, her knight in shining armor pulls up in a tow truck. After some sarcastic banter back and forth between Natalie and Monroe, she agrees to let him help her but her luck continues to go down hill. Monroe agrees to give her a ride to the restaurant for her long awaited dinner date with her boyfriend, since he can't fix her car that night. Thank goodness Monroe stays there to wait for her after she gets to the restaurant. That's when his charm and good heart take over and give Natalie what she needs most. The best night of her life.
I love the dialogue between the characters. Monroe's sarcastic wit makes you chuckle while reading the story. The two characters get along right from the start so the story becomes a refreshing read. I was a little surprised by the ending and loved the epilogue even more. It is refreshing to find characters who take chances in life and "just go for it" unsure of the outcome.
Roni Loren has long been a favorite author of mine. She writes with intensity and passion and her characters all become my favorites. Her Loving on the Edge series is one of my favorites and I get excited each time a new book in the series comes out.
