About Nicholas Broadhurst
Nick Broadhurst began writing the Sequetus Series books in 1987. Most of the stories were compiled while computers were in their infancy. The first two books were handwritten. He slowly built the stories, until self-publishing came about and Amazon became his launching pad. Now there are 23 books, which completed the series. Each of miniseries has all the books compiled into one larger book, and there is also a very large compilation of all the Sequetus Series books. There is also a Compendium.
As of 2018, the first Mini-series has had all its individual books revised. This was after certain discoveries were made in our solar system.
In 2018 Nick also launched his Captain Kuro From Mars picture book series. These follow on immediately after the last book of the Sequetus Series ends. The Captain Kuro series is a children's picture book series as well as a comic book series. The first book is in 60 languages. The following books are less. Many of the languages that Captain Kuro is in are not available on Amazon yet. Kuro is a character - like a cat - who lives on a spaceship with the hero in the last few books of the Sequetus Series. In both the Sequetus Series, and the Captain Kuro series, she is from Mars. Kuro, is also the name of Nick's little black cat, and also means Black, in Japanese.
Nick has lived and worked in Australia, USA, Central Asia, and traveled to over 45 countries and principalities around the world.
He wrote the epic Sequetus Series as a passion, starting in 1989. Then he was managing construction projects in Australia. He moved to Japan where he still wrote more of the series between 1992 and 2001. The recent books were completed in 2014 and were done in Australia and Japan.
Some of what Nick Broadhurst writes about he draws from experiencing life first hand. For example, his first major international adventure was to climb a string of the highest mountains in New Guinea in 1970. Since then he worked in the Himalayas, India, Korea, Taiwan and many other exotic locations. He has worked in over a dozen countries and two of these were in civil war. While his written works are science fiction, much of the adventure in these books is inspired from his own experience.
Nick painted and designed his own covers in the first mini-series of books, and took the photos for the covers in the other mini-series. These were then replaced by professionals. The diagrams inside the books he drew, and the computer pictures and maps are also his.
The books start with Sequetus 3 (Earth), solidly setting the stage of what is to come. The books slowly build to a spiritual zenith in the Templar Series drawing on some of his experiences again.
In a way Nick wishes there were less books to read in the series. However, the subject matter this series of books covers is big, so he hopes the readers understand. He has had to examine how could a ship travel faster than the speed of light, how could a person transcend time? Science fiction has often been a stepping stone for later scientists, so Nick took the philosophical approach to actually work out how these feats could be done, and then apply and explain that in his books. You will have to read the series to find out.
The author has been a great fan of science fiction. When studying his Bachelor of Architecture from 1973 to 1979 in Perth, Western Australia, he would work in the nearby semi desert areas during the semester breaks. He would read his classical sci-fi, all the classics, Heinlein, Asimov, and so on. This generated his thirst for the subject.
Upon graduation, the author continued reading, to a point, where he could not find anymore of what today we would call classical writers. His absolute favorites would be Stranger In A Strange Land, the Dune Trilogy by Frank Herbert, and the Foundation Trilogy by Asimov. What ran through all these was a spirituality content, with the science fiction. The author decided to contribute to this specialist spiritual genre.
As the years rolled on the author started to real religious texts, such as the Holy Bible, the Holy Quran, the three Veda, the Bhagavad Gita, Buddhist texts, and texts from many newer religions. And added to that he learned in varying degrees additional langues such as Italian, Japanese, German, and most recently Sanskrit.
The author undertook additional English language courses, and has never stopped studying. He recently completed a semester in Sanskrit in a university in Kathmandu in the Himalayas.
The author also learned to box at school, took up Karate at university and continued with Tai Kwon Do. These self-defense techniques - like all the author's experiences, have found their way into his books.
The author has traveled to over 45 countries and principalities. He is also a Class A building contractor, meaning his license allows him to build any building of any size.
For the last forty years the author has not owned a television, and thus has time to do all the above.
He hopes you enjoy your reading of his works. He has priced them to be read, not for commerce. He enjoys writing. And while Nick is not a professional writer he admires greatly those who are, and devote themselves to the craft.
As a summary, these books in the Sequetus Series have taken about 25,000 hours to date.
And lastly Nick always wishes his readers good luck, and hopes that they enjoy his books.

In this book, the Men In Black are searching for her, and with the help of the mad psychiatrist, Dr. Kutzbrain, they find her with John and his family up in the mountains in Central Asia. The doctor believes that all imagination is dangerous, especially imagination in children, and that they can only be saved through medication! Kuro saves them all with her special magic abilities. All cats can do this, as all cats are from originally Mars, per Kuro. For the rest of the story, you will have to enjoy reading the book.
