In addition, popular favorites like "Dancing In the Street," "We got the Beat" and "Rhythm is Gonna Get You" ensure fun for the entire family. While Nickelodeon Fit had a great variety of different kinds of activties, there's only one activity in Nickelodeon Dance: dancing. The dance moves aren't nearly as complex as what you'll see on games like Just Dance or Dance Central, but many are simplified versions of familiar dance moves like the cha-cha or the twist.
The opening menu is pretty simple:
Whatever you choose for your first choice, you'll be sent to a tutorial. If you are familiar with Just Dance, game play should all be very familiar to you.
Three of your favorite Nickelodeon characters will dance on the screen, and your goal is to match the moves of the character in the middle, as if you're looking in a mirror. There are icons on the bottom of the page that tell you what move you should be doing and what move is coming up. As you hit moves correctly, stars will fly out of the character into a "score meter". The score meter only consists of three stars, and there isn't a numerical score count at all.
There doesn't seem to be any difference between "Quick Play", "Dance" and "Workout", except that with "Quick Play" you'll see a list of all four song categories, while with "Dance" you'll see songs from only three categories ("Starting Steps", "Smooth Moves", "Fancy Footwork), and with "Workout" you'll see songs from a fourth category ("Workout Songs").Read more ›
Now I am totally out of shape but I thought the dances were a great way to get me moving and work up a little sweat. And we haven't even gone to the work out section yet!!!
I think this is a great 'game' for the whole family. I don't need Jillian Michaels to get me going, yet!!
i can see some parents complaining about how really just the child shaking the remote gets the stars, well thats their personal problem, i get up with my son and dance along, and try to get him to copy the moves and try to be like dora or diego or who ever is on the screen!
my only complaint is that i wish their was another version, more songs, or something, because my son loves it so much, and the regular dance games are just tooooo hard, and uninteresting to him. how about a dance game with wheels on the bus, or abc's etc. songs an nursury rhymes they hear at home and at school.
love this product, quality is great, tons of fun! perfect for someone 2-6, even older if they love the characters and love to dance, I am 27 and I LOVE IT! my son is 4 and my daughter is 1 and we all play it! giving high fives and spending quality time together on those rainy days,
PLUS, it makes a great nite time game to get them tired for bed! lol
when I first purchased this, my son was not familiar with nickelodeon characters or songs, but still enjoyed to dance. He has recently gotten into Diego and Dora's shows via netflix and now prefers their dances/songs to the others. But again, this was still enjoyable before he had that connection.
there are varying levels of dance moves and speeds of songs/dances. I think it's perfect for little ones, at whom this game is aimed. the controls are easy enough for my 3 year old to figure out on his own since he picks by song rather than be skill level at this point. and it's a great game for us both to get up off our behinds and get moving. it's fun and energetic for little ones and i recommend it to all families with toddlers/preschoolers.

My 5-year-old nephew seem to prefer the "adult" dancing games more. I think he likes hearing popular songs and not just kiddy songs. Read morePublished 4 months ago by NiliC
This game is super easy to play, no dancing skills required. Perfect for my 3 and 5 year old. My only gripe is the price. This game is not worth what I paid for it.Published 5 months ago by Reviewer
