I use my heat gun for embossing,, shaping plastic, drying paint and gesso. It is well used and looks it. A word of caution to new users. NEVER point your heat gun straight down when you use it. The reflected heat can burn out the insides. That is Very Hot Air.

Apparently this heat gun was meant for arts and crafts use. I don't even know what embossing is, but I bought it because of its compact size to put in an electronics repair kit for use on heatshrink tubing. It works great for that.

I bought this heat gun for craft projects. First time ever buying or using a heat gun and I am glad I bought this one. It does get hot so you have to be very careful not to burn yourself or the item you are heating up. I know I will get a lot of use from this product and I would purchase it again.

I purchased this to melt the top of container soy candles to give them a smooth finish. It works really well, doesn't blow the wax all over the sides of the jar and works quickly. Interestingly, though, it's florescent green, not gray blue as shown..

After using it the 1st time, it did smoke after I turned it off. I thought, oh oh, hope this thing isn't going to burst into flame.. I got the pamphlet out quickly and flipped through it...it does state that the unit may smoke the first time you use it and that is completely normal.. I've used it since then and no more smoke..

I bought two of these tools for my high school art classroom; my students have used them for curing embossing powder, heating/manipulating recycled plastic water bottles and shrink film, and for speed-drying paint and plaster. These heat guns have a nice fit and feel in the hand, give off just enough heat to do the job but still very safe temperatures, and the outer casing is plastic so they stay relatively cool. My only small complaint is the little wire stand attachment does not work well; the stiff tension from the power cord makes the thing hard to balance on the wire stand. Not a big deal, I have the students put the heat guns facing down in a coffee can so I don't use the wire stands anyway, but it's a design flaw.

After using this heat gun several times over the last two months, I would recommend it to anyone who has need of a heat gun. It heats up quickly and the stand makes sure that when you set it down it stays where you set it. Excellent product.

Ok, I gave this tool a 1 star before, because it melted itself. BUT, I now "repent in dust and ashes" because I was wrong to use it with 220 volts (I work overeas). Now, even though it's half melted, it works great if I use it through a 110 transformer!
