Nicolette Goff grew up on a small farm (one of 9 children) in BC's Rockies. The entire family participated in growing, weeding and harvesting over an acre of organic vegetables every year, as well as a small herb and strawberry garden and a currant patch loaded with red, white and black currants and gooseberries.
Gardening naturally led to an interest in cooking healthy meals and learning how to preserve the garden's bounty. She has designed and planted both vegetable and ornamental gardens at 3 different homes, expressing her passion for learning and sharing her love of plants.
As a teacher and school librarian, she pursued her love of books and writing. Fast forward to find her in Ecuador, where she fell in love with the high Andean villages, the creative local people, the history and culture. It was here she was first introduced to quinoa, prompting her to develop and share recipes using this superfood.
Currently living on beautiful Vancouver Island, Nicolette enjoys travel to places off the beaten path. Hiking with her husband, painting, writing, cooking and having fun with her two daughters and 3 grandchildren rank high on her list of favorite activities.
