the OST ebbs and flows, and overall I think it ultimately lands the delivery. it is sometimes difficult for me to like musical work that is more than 90 minutes long, but how this OST is divided, and whatever tracks are in those three parts makes sense if you play the game, but if you haven't played the game you can still sense the direction. everyone is bound to have favorites, but great music in my opinion are works that, whenever you keep revisiting it, you fall in love with tracks that you haven't bothered to pay attention to, and I think this is why this OST is not just one of my favorite pieces of OST, but one of my favorite pieces of music.

The only soundtrack I've ever bought, and it was well worth it. The music on this album is very well done, and every track is worth a listen. Each song will instantly take you back to a specific memory you have of the game, and depending on how Nier Automata made you feel, may actually get you a little teary eyed. The only omission from the game, that I noticed, was the vocal track for "Become as Gods". However, the instrumental version is still present. But it doesn't take away from the experience, as theres still over 3 hrs, and around 40 tracks of great music.
The discs and case were all delivered in great condition, brand new with no cracks. It only included the 3 disc soundtrack that is viewed and described. I did not receive the Hacking track disc that a few other commenters have. They must've either ordered a different version or gotten extremely lucky to receive a bonus item. Oh well, thats just fine, as I still got exactly what I payed for and i am incredibly happy.
5 stars for a perfect ost to one of, if not my favorite game of all time.

Fantastic OST with Disappointing exclusions!

I'm willing to bet you already know if you like this soundtrack or not. I can't imagine people buy soundtracks for games they've never played so you must know by now that this one is pretty amazing. If not, I'm going to assume other reviews cover the strengths of this album better than I would.

Instead, I want to highlight two noticeable exclusions from the tracklist.

1. Emil's Shop is in japanese. The english version is not on this album. The english lyrics are super goofy and I was REALLY looking forward to getting this song in my library. I can't believe I paid ~$50 and still have to resort to youtube to listen to the english version whenever I want. This alone makes me regret not getting the album later when it might be on sale.

2. Possessed by a Disease does not have the robot death-cult chant vocals ("BECOME AS GODS"). I'm sure I'm in the minority on this one. Most people seem to prefer this song without the death-cult chant, and that is the version you'll find here. The death-cult chant version grew on me the more I listened to it and I was hoping to get it off the CD but oh well. The chant-less version is fine too.

This is maybe the best game soundtrack of 2017 and they excluded the song I wanted the most. What a bummer.

NieR:Automata is my favourite video game and the award winning score by Keiichi Okabe is so wonderful and I listen to it often (probably too often). From the dreamlike ambience of 'Fortress Of Lies' and 'City Ruins - Rays Of Light', to the epic bombast of 'Dark Colossus - Kaiju' and 'Bipolar Nightmare', the score features of range of tones and emotions across its soundscape, that evoke the sombre, melancholic world of NieR:Automata. It is one of my favourite soundtracks across all media and is thoroughly recommended.

The pack includes x46 tracks across x3 discs, including x4 versions of 'Weight Of The World' (English/Japanese/Nouveau-French and 'The End of YoRHa versions). The CD casing, insert booklet and discs all arrived in top condition.

If you like Nier: Automata, I would recommend this sound track.
