Q: Does this fit the late 2013 13" Macbook Pro Retina? Thanks.
A:
Hi! - Yes it does :)

Well, I ordered one based on this assurance and today I received a package from Nifty. It contained a Nifty MiniDrive Air 13".
This does NOT fit the ate 2013 13" Macbook Pro Retina. In attempting to return it to Nifty in an exchange for the correct item, it turned out that I was expected to pay the return shipping cost.

Not only is the company less than competent by shipping the wrong item, it also expects me to pay for this incompetence.
This I refuse to do.

Amazing Product. I was a little disappointed by the fact that the drive did not fit perfectly centered in the slot, (There is a 1/64" gap on the right side). Still I am absolutely thrilled with it.

I encrypted and passcode protected my MicroSD card that I use in it, so I use it to keep important documents on.

The beauty of this is that if I want to hide things, all I have to do is eject the drive, but leave it in the slot. It would take a clever person to notice that it was there, and yet the information on the drive could not be accessed by the person using the computer.

It is well made and works as it is advertised. When I purchased it I thought I would install it and simply forget about it. I learned this was a poor decision on my part. Because whenever you do a restart it will have to be reinserted in order to 'mount' so you can access the memory. This creates an issue because you need the provided tool or something similar to pull out the drive and pop it back in. I learned my painful lesson after doing an OSX Yosemite Update while the Nifty Drive was still in my MBP. During the process the micro sd card was corrupted beyond repair. Ugh! I also understand the presence of a micro sd card whether it's in the Nifty or in another type of adapter will prevent the MBP from going in to Power Nap mode.

Update 10/23/15
I found a micro sd card that was more reliable and better suited for this purpose. As a result I am raising the rating to three stars. Still, due to the inconvenience and variety of other solutions available I do not use my nifty drive.

This is a very well made product. I purchased a "cheaper" product first. That one is now in the trash. The Nifty MiniDrive fits great in my MacBook Pro Retina and works perfectly. It also looks and feels very well made. Awesome!

Fits snug in the sd card slot. So snug that you need a special tool to get it out. The tool is included and I really have no complaints.
I put a 128GB micro sd in it and now my Mac is supercharged :)

I'm very satisfied with this product. Sometimes you get what you pay for and that it the case with the Nifty product. I tried other, cheaper imitations and they were cheaply made and did not work out. I've used this with a Lexar 64GB micro SDXC card and the new SandDisk 128GB SDXC micro. Both worked well and have provided a convenient, aesthetically pleasing memory storage addition to my 13" MacBook Pro Retina. Another family member has the Nifty for a 13" MacBook Air and it has been problem free. Read/Write speeds are acceptable, including when watching videos.

Ordered the Nifty minidrive with the free 4gb micro SD card for a new MBP 13" Retina and drive. SD card did not fit into the minidrive slot easily and followed the manufacturers recommendation to remove and replace until it slide freely into the adapter. Once the micro SD card was completely inserted into the minidrive and then placed into the Mac, the card was not detected, even after repeated removals and reinsertion.

Contacted Nifty's customer service for assistance or a replacement and was told to format the SD card for Apple O/S... kind of difficult to do this without a working adapter or if this is unrecognized by the laptop.

Needless to say, we have not heard back from Nifty, nor have been given a return approval code. Given the higher than average cost and a lot of packaging and fluff, I'm not convinced that this is any better than a $5 SD adapter available from a number of other companies.

Still waiting for a response....

Works great in the Macbook I have. They do make one with a built in card, but I like this one, with a removable card, so that I can use the data on other PC's in my house (as well as my Mac.)

If I had another Mac, I would purchase this. I do wish there was a better way to store the goofy tool to pull this out.
