The Nigger Bible Paperback – March 1, 2002

4.6 out of 5 stars 26 ratings

"The Nigger Bible - written by an acknowledged Nigger about the experience of Niggers, addressed and directed exclusively to my Nigger people for whom it was purposely conceived. Thus does the late internationally acclaimed author Robert H. deCoy introduce this explosive best seller. First published in 1967, The Nigger Bible is universally accepted as one of the true classics of the literature of the American Black experience. Robert H. deCoy has been praised and damned around the world for the volatile work. In his introduction of the edition, entainer Dick Gregory calls deCoy 'one of the literay giants of our time' who has dared to discard the traditional vestiges of Judeo-Christianity in order to find and reveal a seething, shocking truth that all men know but none have dared to express."

I don't care what you think you know about black people, or what you're sure you know. No one else I've come across is this brutally honest about race relations in America. It gets really silly sometimes, but otherwise it looks you in the face and hits you with truth.

Very, very good book! Can't wait to read it again. DeCoy's illustrations make you feel as if you are right there with him throughout whole book.

As an African American I understand the context and setting of the creation this book. Mr Decoy was coming up in the madness of SYSTEMIC racism and ideology that was being imposed upon his kind. We must remember this was penned in 1967, during Vietnam and restlessness in the people of color in the U.S. thru the Civil rights movement.
Then the brain washing of millions, 'oh slavery wasn't that bad; my family didn't own slaves; erect a few hundred Confederate statues even though they lost; weave a few Sally Hemmings tales along the line and wes happy massa now yes wes is. So for a white person to be able to give a review about this book and say it was horrible, rubbish. In ev6storybook you read, you can imagine being every character, the main character. But when you read our horror stories, you don't want to imagine being the slave do you? Imagine the effects on their descendants? So if you can think about that, let that ride on your mind. Excellent book.

Excellent book & you must have an open mind/thoughts if you’re washed in the Bible to read this book. Years ago I purchased this book for under $20.00 & now it’s worth buying for $500.00. Now that tells you how awesome this book is & somebody today is making it very difficult to read this book. What are they afraid of in allowing ALL people to buy & read for ten dollar; this book, like we enjoy Dave Chappell or Christ Rock. Controlled society with these hacked gps mobile devise need to stop they’re hate crime against books. This book is hilarious✝️

Did not quite live up to what was expected, but an okay bit of escapism.
