The illustrations are just precious, so sweet and cute. That definitely saves the book for me. Since we have other Easter books I don't mind so much that this one is pretty shallow. My little one is too young to really know the difference and right now I feel uncomfortable talking to her about Jesus' death and resurrection. She has no concept of the greatness of that sacrifice or even what death is (she's only 2) and I don't want to go there just yet. For now, Easter is about the bunny. When she's older, it will be a different story.
There are no religious references in this book, so if your family is not religious or you are looking for a book for a public school or daycare classroom this might be a decent option.
( ... And I plan on purchasing / collecting ALL of Them!!! ) -- I highly recommend this book,
and all of the Natasha Wing: "The Night Before..." Stories.
