Is this some kind of joke like seriously. If this is supposed to be a revamp, it was horrible. There's nothing in this movie that makes it similar to the original. This is total insult to the original and the story line is wrong.
Also don't get me started on the music being played in the movie like come on. I take this movie as a joke plus sorry to say this is not a horror movie it's trash and a waste of time. The person that made this movie have no respect for the classic. No one should be allowed to touch classic movies if they are going to turn it into crap and disrespect the true masterpiece of it.

This remake was a major disappointment. No where near as good as the first one. Story sucks and the demons were a joke. They never should have done this re-make.

Love it or hate it, mad props to the Makeup department and special effects. This revamped and yet still an 80's vibe horror flick is sexy and slick. As a videophile I am pretty trained to see the jump scares coming but this vid caught me twice! I turn 60 next month and thus told hubby that if I need a jump start, remind me of the skelly bite. Truthfully, it was the speed that got me.

I found two issues but I won't share them because I loved the rest of the movie so much I don't care about them. I am calling my daughter now to tell her to watch this, in honor of her upbringing by a sick momma who loved her reactions to this kind of movie.
Shannon Elizabeth
Edward, if I was a younger woman, you and I would talk...still. And Shannon Elizabeth, you are in my top four "if I had a hall pass" ladies. It has Angelina Jolie and Phoebe Cates and Ann-Margret (not in any particular order). Yup, I am a 'free love' era woman. Ah the old days.......

Thank you to all that participated in this film, I give five starts to all departments. Now I am off to watch the others of the same title and others related to this film, refreshing the original scares in my memory. What a night! Boob boo!

Boo-boo.

I don't even know why they try calling this a remake of the good movie, Night of the Demons. The plot wasn't anything remotely similar, and the characters were totally different, and barely likable. Whereas the good movie had a small cast, locked in a large, foreboding house, this starts off with way too many people. The original had a Black guy as a survivor, and a White girl. I guess Hollywood's idea of improvement is getting rid of the Black people, as seen in this movie.

Angela is throwing a party at New Orleans' Broussard mansion. After the police break up the festivities, a few friends find themselves trapped inside the locked gates and soon fall victim to seven blood-thirsty demons. I'm not the biggest fan of remakes but I always give them a chance. This has to be one of the worst I have come across and I love horror so much I can even tolerate some "bad" ones. How is it so highly rated? I gave it a shot because Shannon Elizabeth was in it but as soon as I saw Edward Furlong, I should have known better. He was once a promising young actor with films like "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" and "American History X", so it's a shame to see him now. He doesn't even try anymore. Although, casting better actors wouldn't have made a difference because the script is terrible. The infamous "lipstick scene"? Yeah, it's in there but they try way too hard. The special effects are disappointing, the demons look ridiculous. I recommend the original, this is garbage.

Not exactly a straight remake, but a ton of fun

I probably enjoyed this more than I should have for no reason other than a lot of beautiful people having a rager of a Halloween party that definitely turns demonic after the cops come and break it up. But there's a nice blend of just enough humor to give you a chance to catch your breath between demonic takeovers.

The acting was really good among the leads, but a special shout out to Monica Keene as Maddie, our heroine and Diora Baird and Bobbie Sue Luther as her best friends, Lily and Suzanne. Yes, they are gorgeous, but also funny and scary when necessary. The final three notables in the cast were Edward Furlong (Terminator 2), Shannon Elizabeth (American Pie) and legendary 80s horror movie queen, Linnea Quigley who starred in the original Night of the Demons back in 1988 and does a quick cameo as a ballerina handing out Halloween candy and bends over reprising the position she famously took in '88.

The only nitpick I had with the film was the excessive use of f-bombs by literally every character that had more than four lines of dialogue. It's not that I'm a prude, but nobody talks like that. It's just lazy writing.

But otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed this version. Is it as good as the original? No. But it holds its own and is worth watching.

What's so screwed up about this flick is that they apparently had a decent budget. The setting is just plain creeptastic! What could have been...sigh. This is an excuse for the screenwriter to exploit a few young ladies for his own prurient tastes. Story...whoosh, gone. Show boobs. Scares...whoosh gone. Insert crass sex humor. Horror movies should be scary, not horrible.

NO SPOILERS. FIRST, THIS IS NOT A FAMILY FILM OR FOR EVEN MATURE TEENS. THERE IS SEX, PROFANITY, AND VIOLENCE. HAVING SAID THAT, THE FIRST THIRTY MINUTES IS SHOWING JUST A LARGE HALLOWEEN PARTY, LITTLE HAPPENS. THEN, THE HOST,
ANGELA, HAS HER SIX FRIENDS REMAIN. WHILE EXPLORING THE HOUSE, THEY DISCOVER THE BONES OF DEAD BODIES. AS ANGELA TOUCHES ONE, IT BITES HER AND SHE IS MILDLY CUT. THEN THE FINAL HOUR IS TERRIFYING, AS THE DEMONS APPEAR AND WRECK HAVIC. DEFINITELY WORTH A VIEW BUT FEEL FREE TO USE THE FAST FORWARD FREELY FOR THE FIRST THIRTY MINUTES . MOST IMPORTANT..........BE SURE TO WATCH THE ORIGINAL 1988 CULT CLASSIC WHICH IS BREATHTAKING. IT IS ALSO
