may be weird but in the end they manage to pull it off!
Between the witches spells, the demon slayers' power and the magic of the Griffin shifter they manage to get the upper hand on all kinds of evil! Then there is help from the peanut gallery in the form of Lizzie's 10lb Rat Terrier, Pirate, and his "pet", an adolescent dragon named Flappy!
There is never a dull moment and I am continually amazed at the imagination of Ms. Fox. To say this series is just a great read is an understatement, it's addictive! If you haven't already read some of Angie Fox's books this series is a great one to start reading! A #1 fan, Merrilyn
I truly enjoyed this novel. It remains true to the story and characters we have come to love with Angie's other Demon Slayer novels but it can easily be read as a standalone book.
At times it is laugh out loud funny and others it's so suspenseful I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend this book as well as all of Angie Fox's other works. They are a great read for vacations too. I happened to read mine while lounging in the pool.
What kind of trouble can Lizzie, Pirate and the Biker Witches get into this time. Our adventure takes place in New Orleans. Lizzie is asked by her old friend Carpenter to come to New Orleans to help him with a problem that is too big for him to handle on his own. Well of course Lizzie has to go and help with her mad Demon Slayer skills but she knows that this is a big job so she asks the Red Skulls to join her on her quest. Nothing ever goes as planned for Lizzie especially with her friends help. When the group arrives in New Orleans they decide to stay in the haunted ancestral home of one of the biker witches. The spirit living there really takes a liking to Lizzie. Lizzie's husband Dimiti joins the group after they have had a setback. The reunion of the newlyweds is sizzling. Even with Dimitii and the Red Skulls help Lizzie still has problems defeating the evil voodoo priest, his family and followers. The evil mans mother has some very powerful dark magic and the army she creates could potentially kill every human in New Orleans.
Lizzie Brown is all for letting the good times roll…until a dark voodoo church rises up in the bayou outside of New Orleans. Now the ritual fires are burning long into the night and the dead are having a hard time staying that way.
Another fun ride in the life of Lizzie Brown! Lizzie & Dimitri are enough to have you reaching for ice water, and the Red Skulls... well, their down-home, sarcastic sense of humor will keep you in stitches even as you worry over Lizzie's next adventure. Lizzie always manages to get herself wrapped up in some seemingly disastrous situation, but thanks to her sarcastic wit; her grandmother's biker witch coven; her dog, Pirate; and the many, many friends she is able to cultivate she always finds a way out!
I LOVE this series, and can hardly contain my impatience while waiting for the next installment! If you haven't read this series yet - DO! The first book is currently FREE for Kindle! ;)
This is the 7th book of this series and the first one I have read. I did not feel I was lost by beginning with number 7. I will be reading the earlier books now that I have had a taste of Ms. Fox work.
This is not your normal paranormal romance story. Lizzie Brown is a demon slayer; she has a talking Dog name Pirate, a toddler dragon she calls Flappy, a Granny that is a witch and part of a spell casting witch biker gang that recruits at the senior citizens home, her husbands Dimitri is a (hot with a capital H) griffin whom by the way, she has quite a thing for, a necromancer friend Carpenter that needs help in New Orléans, and a cast of assorted odd, quirky, and unconventional characters. Carpenter had no idea what he's getting into when he asked for Lizzie help, suddenly he has the witch senior citizen biker gang helping as well and traveling not only on their bikes but with a school bus full of witch stuff. Off the entire band goes to New Orléans to help Carpenter with evil that has risen there. They will have their hands full in New Orléans.
This book starts with action and continues through out as Lizzie and her cast of fellows fight demons, evil, voodoo, zombie alligators, spirits, and assorted other supernatural occurrences. The Ms. Fox has created a wonderful world of off the wall characters and adventures, and she keeps the pace going and holds your interest from start to finish of the book. Ms. Fox also fulled this book with humor, I laughed a lot during this read. I was glad to read that Ms. Fox has at least 3 more books in line for this series. The quirky characters and the world Ms. Fox has fashioned makes for an enjoyable read.
I would recommend this book to anyone that likes an out of the ordinary paranormal filled with adventure and romance; due to one sexual scene in the book I would recommend this book for young adult to adult.
I received this book in from the publisher and Netgalley in return for an honest review.
