One Night Rodeo (Blacktop Cowboys Novel Book 4) Kindle Edition
Barrel racer Celia Lawson knows better than to tangle with bull rider Kyle Gilchrist. The sexy cowboy’s love ‘em and leave ‘em ways have earned him a reputation on the rodeo circuit, and he’s always seen her as his best friend’s kid sister. But after one wild, tequila-fueled night, Celia wakes up to find out she’s gotten herself hitched—to a man she never should have married!
When Celia insists on an annulment, Kyle has no good reason to say no—except he isn’t ready to let go of his new bride. But then Kyle inherits a sprawling Wyoming ranch, and seizes the opportunity to enlist Celia’s help. She agrees to lend a hand—with two conditions: He has to get up to speed as a rancher within six months; then they’ll get a divorce. And their marriage will be in name only.
Kyle gives in to Celia’s demand, yet he's ready to prove to her he has what it takes to turn their one night rodeo into a lifetime of love….

Even as kids Kyle and Celia seem to rub each other the wrong way, arguing and fighting has always been their MO. They live and breathe to butt heads. So imagine the shock when Celia wakes up the morning after a fun filled and very drunken night in Vegas only to realize they also rub each other in all the right ways, and that's not all, now they're......married.
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas....NOT ALWAYS...
Kyle wakes up in Vegas married to his nemesis and secret crush...OH, she also just happens to be his best friends' little sister. On top of that he gets an emergency call from his momma, that requires him to head home without taking care of the quickie Vegas wedding. NOT that he wants to, Celia has a different opinion.
We first met Kyle in CORRALLED (Blacktop Cowboys #1). I was ok when things didn't work out between him and Lanie because I wanted Hank and Lanie together. I also wanted Kyle to have his own amazing HEA and Ms. James did not disappoint.
In CORRALLED I felt the loveable, fun, sexy Kyle had some growing up to do. Let me tell you, he grew up just fine, as much as I was already in love with Kyle in CORRALLED, I fell even more in love with him in ONR. He is sexy, sweet and not willing to give up on Celia or their love.
Celia is feisty, headstrong and vulnerable. The banter between Kyle and Celia is addicting, I truly did not want their book to end.
ONR is not just a book about Kyle and Celia dealing with their newfound relationship and smoking hot sex. Kyle and Celia have to deal with the reactions of her overprotective brothers and the fact that Kyle had a sexual relationship with her sister in law, one that included a menage with her brother (strictly MFM menage, no sex between Kyle and Hank). Ms. James took a sensitive subject that had the potential to ruin Kyle and Celia's relationship and worked it out without making me think "JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!" while I was reading it
ONE NIGHT RODEO is another outstanding example of the talent of Lorelei James. Once again she has written a unique story full of family, friends, conflict, romance and steamin' hot sex. Ms. James amazes me with her ability to keep each book refreshing and different. She is one of my go to authors when I need a book I know will satisfy me from start to finish.

Kyle grows up wanting a ranch in Wyoming and he is willing to work hard for it riding bulls whenever he can get into a rodeo. He has something happen to him that changes his life forever and he needs Celia to help him.
Celia is an independent woman that feels like she has been abandoned by family and has been chasing first place in barrel racing since she was a teen and fell in love with the sport. She has part of a ranch in Wyoming with her brothers Abe and Hank. Since her brothers are married off and she feels like the odd person out she hasn't gone home for a few years.
When Kyle needs her she feels that maybe she can help him out and change her dream and go to school.
They have a change of heart when they are thrust into a situation that changes both their lives forever. They are sexual equals but is that enough?
A page turner.
Ms. James is a expert of writing standalone novels yet throwing a couple of previous couples into the mix. We can stay up to date on former couples and how they are moving forward. Celia is the baby sister to some of Kyle’s best friends and Ms. James works her magic to pull this family together. Ms. James has written quite a few western romances, yet she is still able to pull readers in with new and interesting twist on all of her novels. One Night Rodeo is a favorite reread of mine!
Many people are judged based on past behaviors or preconceived notions. Kyle and Celia are both victims of this. Not just from there friends and family but also with each other. Celia finds out that Kyle is really romantic softy at heart and Kyle finally admits what he has known for two years, that Celia is everything he wants in a woman and a wife.
Something Lorelei I think is very good at is writing about family drama and how childhood can effect the adults today. Kyle never knew who his father was and then all of a sudden he not only finds out who he was but that he left him a ranch. Something Kyle had been wanting and dreaming about having for years. It was a very touching scene when Kyle's mother finally admitted how he came to be. Being a single mother is not easy and having to admit to your child that they were not conceived in a loving relationship is not an easy thing. Kyle had a lot of emotions to work out on that but he knew his mother did the best she could for him.
Celia having lost both her parents when she was young was raised by her brothers. In situations like that the older brothers can tend to be a little over protective not realizing that for most of the time she felt like she didn't really belong anywhere and had no place of her own to call home. She too had always wanted a ranch to call her own but struggled with letting herself fully believe that what her and Kyle had was real. Instead she kept thinking it was all just short term and waiting for the other shoe to drop.
This book is about the romance between two people and the insecurities they need to overcome to have that HEA.
