Five dogs left or returned to the shelter – a puppy because she was too playful; another because the owner died, another because of a divorce – you get the idea – once loved, now left in a cage.
But when Ginny, their favorite shelter worker who lost her husband on a Christmas Eve 10 years before leaves Maizie, the puppy’s cage unlatched, the fun begins.
What happens when 5 dogs are on their own with freedom possible from the shelter? Will they lead lives of their own far from people who abandoned them in one way or another?
It may be a dog’s world and this short book may offer an answer to whether a dog’s freedom is worth living apart from people who love dogs or is it important to live with a human who will care, feed and give you a loving home.
Dutch, Georgie, Maizie, Peg, and Raider are the dogs left at the animal shelter over Vhristmas eve. Ginny and Tom, the two an8mal caretakers loved these dogs, and gave them as much love as they could. Time was the enemy, of course, not enough time. But, these dogs felt the love, they only wished for homes of 5heur own. They each have their own story, and they will draw you in. I loved every minute of this book, and, of course, there were tears .
The author, Mark J.Asher, is one to relish, he leaves us another snippet of a story at the end if this book. For every big lover, and animal lover out there, this book is for you.
