I fell in love with Callie in the first chapter. She was sassy and strong, but a vulnerability and self-deprecation were simmering just below the surface that made her intensely likable. As the novel went on, I found myself more and more fascinated with Callie. Lucas was not instantly enchanting, his broody moodiness called to me in a different way, a more intense way. He’s precisely the kind of book boyfriend I appreciate most. I loved how intensely they connected and respected each other’s wants, needs, and abilities.
While the developing relationship between Callie and Lucas was the highlight of Dead of Night for me, the suspense and drama kept me equally glued to my kindle while I was reading. I was desperately trying to hold onto each reveal and put together all the answers I needed before the pages quit coming, I didn’t quite get all of them, but it left me salivating for the next book in this series, Dark of Night.
Lucas is strong, loving, passionate, and need only one thing in this life.
Callie is sassy, snarky and has a kick butt I don’t need anyone attitude but she’s missing something.
This is a story with Vampires and Witches - there’s puns, funny moments, passion that may light you on fire, mystery, and a thrilling plot. I am anxiously waiting Dark of Night book 2
If you’re a PNR junkie, this is right up your alley! And even if you’re not, this is the perfect place to start! Callie and Lucas are waiting for you!

Loved the characters.. Callie who's a witch and Lucas who's a vampire. Callie first comes across Lucas at his bar stopping another vampire from draining a human women and there relationship grows from there.
Along the way Callie coven is under attack and witches are being murdered. So they set out to try and find out who is behind them. There are secrets yet to be revealed so hopefully they will come to light in the next book.
Extremely well written, with a good storyline and great characters, and is very humorous in places. The chemistry between Callie and Lucas is off the charts. This book pulled me in from the start, I had a hard time putting it down, and was very sad to reach the end. I can't wait for, Dark of Night to be released in May. I'd give this book 10 stars if I could!! Well done Emily Goodwin, on another great book. 💗
Vamps, witches and demons but a fresh story that doesn't have your rolling your eyes at the clichés that are normally trotted out and a strong female lead not falling straight into the strong supernaturals arms all the time.
