There are several thoughts when it comes to A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: awesome movie, and has the best soundtrack

This soundtrack CD featuring Angelo Badalmenti's score for A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 is terrible and most of it was never even used in the movie. Tracks like "Deceptive Romance", "Magic Butterfly" and "The Dream House" will sound familiar but for the most part these tracks use only small portions of what was heard in the movie. All of the great instrumental music heard in Dream Warriors was actually written by Ken Harrison and only a few cuts and snippets by Badalmenti were used. It almost seems like the filmmakers listened to Badalmenti's score, rejected it, and decided to hire someone else to rescore the movie, using only the best parts from Badalmenti. That was a smart decision by the filmmakers. The best track on here is "The Dream House", (heard during the opening credits), and tracks like "Puppet Walk" and "Snake Attack" are pretty awful compared to the versions that were heard in the movie. A portion of "Taryn's Deepest Fear" was used in the beginning of the movie when the faucet grows Freddy's claws and Kristen slices her wrists. Ultimately I found Angelo Badalmenti's score, for the most part, flat and boring. Don't waste your money.

Thankfully Harrison's score is now available on the A Nightmare on Elm Street 8 CD Box Set.

    01. Opening* 1:53
    02. Puppet Walk 3:21 (unused track)
    03. Save the Children 1:24

    05. Deceptive Romance 2:48
    06. Snake Attack 1:49 (unused track)
    07. Magic Butterfly 1:24
    08. The Embrace 0:43
    09. Quiet Room/Wheelchair/Icy Bones* 2:44
    10. Rumbling Room* 1:16
    11. Dreamspace 0:48 (unused track)
    12. The Dream House 2:02
    13. Is Freddy Gone?/Trouble Starting/Prime Time TV/Icy Window* 4:38
    14. Grave Walk* 1:16
    15. Nursery Theme* 2:01

I wouldn't waste my money on this soundtrack of Nightmare on Elm Street 3 for all you DOKKEN fans out there, cause DOKKEN isn't on there. Dream Warriors is actually the theme song on Nightmare on Elm Street 3 & I can't understand how DOKKEN can be forgotten on this soundtrack!!!

I have "freddy's favorites"and thought the three tracks by Badalamenti were good, but not his best work by far.I liked it,don't get me wrong, but am wondering if the rest of the score is actually worth the hefty pricetag offered here for a used copy.I'm somewhat of a Badalamenti completist and would love the music, but not if most of it's 80's cheese.
