Oh yeah! Now this is what I'm talking about! I have adored every book in this series so far but I gotta say that I blew through this book in one night. I just couldn't stop reading it. It was the flow of the writing and the character's stories that totally spoke to me... and the hot sexy and steamy romance didn't hurt either. OMG I want to know Noah Bennett! A drop dead gorgeous, sexy, hot and romantic dog lover! I'm in!
Hope McLean, we find out, isn't just an office assistant for the Sheriff. She has an entire history that we knew nothing about. In addition to hiding a massive secret she's also infatuated with a local rancher by the name of James Glen. James on the other hand won't give her the time of day. A truth that became perfectly clear the day that he ran away from Hope after she asked him out. Hope, now rejected and a bit lonely, starts to see ghosts from her past and reconsiders her stay in Bliss... pretty much around the same time that she meets a new stranger to town in the form of Noah Bennett, who she doesn't know is James Glen's estranged brother.
I took a liking to Hope a couple of books back just because she seemed so sweet and innocent and I knew there would be a story there for her. James and Noah are very new to me. James was in the last book, but Noah is brand spanky new. James is a stubborn little character but so entirely sweet you can't help but love him. Noah is my favourite character out of this book for sure. He's gorgeous, funny, sexy, romantic... and a little scared that he's not welcome back to town, which makes him vulnerable and sweet... just like his brother James. Oh... and he's an animal lover! Yeah, he's amazing!
The Writing & The Author:
Brilliant! I don't know what else to say here. I repeat myself every time I review a book written by Sophie Oak. Her story writing ability is simply brilliant. She weaves a tale so gripping that you can't help but be grabbed and intrigued by it. In addition her dialogue brings you right into the story as well as gives you a lot of laughs along the way with the witty and sarcastic humour that she gives each and every character. I love it!
She also brings back all of my favourite characters from previous books in the series. The whole town comes together to protect their own.
On fire!!! Oh yeah! This was a very hot and spicy little read and you will need a cold drink with lots of ice and maybe even an air-conditioner to read this one.
This series is turning out to be more than I could have ever hoped for.
Delicious yummy cowboys, beautiful strong women who love their men something fierce.
Suspense, drama, action, hot menage lovin, romance, forgiveness, humor. These stories have not let me down and always leave me with a smile. Seriously these books take you away to a special place where anything is possible and love overcomes any and all hardships. Well I am off to the next adventure. Saddle up and ride!!! =D
I'm not a big fan of repetitiveness, so that is the only complaint I had with this story. There is a lot of story line, tension, sexual build up going on in the story, so why the author found the need to repeat main points, I don't know. Her readers are intelligent I'm sure and get it the first time. Enough of that, I like how each story has a different crisis and spin. I never can guess what the problem will be and how Oak will twist it, so her stories are always guaranteed to suck me in and hold me down right to the last word on the last page.
What I also like is that Oak doesn't sugar coat her stories to protect anyone's delicate feelings. She gets in there and writes the story that makes you flinch, cry, and get mad. I've complained that some authors I've read did not evoke feelings from me, but with Oak' s stories I have become an erotica suspense junky.
Definitely read Hope, Noah, and Jamie's story. James and Hope have been in some of the other Bliss stories, so it's nice to see them finally have the spotlight on them and the right man to complete their trio.
