This short story is an introduction to a full-length book BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY and I, for one, bought the book as soon as I finished reading this one. I've followed Ms. Lee's other series The Grandmaster's Legacy and couldn't get enough so it was no surprise for me to want this book also. For one thing, even though it wasn't a long story, she still managed to add a fantastic fight scene which is one of my favorite reasons for liking this author. Plus, the writing is best-selling quality. The heroine, Tiffany, meets up with the 3 guys in Special Forces who she is going to be working with under cover. They bond after she jumps into a fight that's forced upon them when they leave a karaoke bar in Seoul. Some time later, when the actual job commences and she changes from the ordinary though excellent fighter to a woman who strokes every man's fantasy, they realize what a changeling she is and what a perfect accomplice.
As you can see by my reviews, I've been gobbling up Taylor Lee's books. (My favorite so far has been The Volkov Affair (Sizzling Romantic Suspense). But this short story, a prequel to Big Girls Don't Cry, has taken a close second for me. I liked Tiffany, who was tough enough to stand up to the military men she has to work alongside with, but not too tough to be unlikable. She and the sexy undercover CID agents join forces to crack open a human trafficking ring in Korea. I recommend NIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN for readers who like their books fast-paced and action-packed. It was a fun, quick read.
I really liked Taylor Lee's romantic suspense Volkov Affair, so I thought I'd try this short story prequel to Big Girls Don't Cry. Tiffany is a kickass heroine, and the Special Forces hunks she works with are totally hot. I like the way the author introduces us to each of their personalities, drawing me into the characters' story world. I gobbled this well-written story up in one sitting. It is a fast, action-packed, exciting read.
I love Taylor Lee's books. Big Girls Don't cry and In the Still of the Night are 2 of my all time favorites. Then I read Love Me Tender the "bridge" waiting for Every Breath You Take. It caught my attention but I wasn't in love with it as I was with the others. So as I am still waiting for Every Breath You Take, I figured what the heck let's see how it began.
Talk about a disappointment. I am so glad I read the others or I would not have had a clue. I was hoping that I would have found out how Tiffany and Brady get together but Tiffany walks off into the sunset with a dead guy. And who the heck is/was Clint? He just appears in the limo. No introduction and no idea where he fits in.
I should have continued to wait patiently for the next full size novel because this short story was just that short but with little story.
There's nothing like a sexy hot Special Forces guy to heat up the pages and this short story brings you 3 delicious strong men! The dialogue is spot on and fun, the characters inviting, and the action a thrilling ride. I'm definitely making Big Girls Don't Cry my next buy!
A short tantalising prequel to “Big Girls Don’t Cry” with hot Special Forces men, a butt-kicking female who goes from unrespected plain Jane to part of the guys and a sex goddess. Worth a read even if you have read “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, if not a great place to start with this series as you will want to keep reading
