This works well with my Model S P85D to unlock my doors and open my trunk hands free in the garage and without my key fob. You have to use the exact command sentence -- Alexa EV Car unlock my doors or open my trunk. You also need to relink the skill to your car just enough for security versus convenience, which is a slight pain but understandable.
I can rarely get Alexa to understand me when I say “EV car”. It works occasionally, not often. It’s a nice skill to have, too bad it’s so hit or miss. I’d say it 5 times over and would have to stress “EV”, at the end, it’s not worth it. Perhaps change it to “Tesla” or “car”.
“Turn on heat” and “Turn on climate” aren’t helpful unless the defrosters turn on as well and maybe the heated seat too. It’s kinda pointless to have Alexa turn on the heat and then have to open the Tesla app to turn on defrosters.
Works like a charm. Very easy to enable. I just noticed a little longer delay for Alexa to confirm/reply to the command than for other devices. It would be great if instead of "EV Car" I could use the key word "Tesla" or the actual nickname of my car. Great job!
