From capturing fast-moving action to jaw-dropping time-lapse sequences and rich 4K videos, Nikon’s new D780 FX-format D-SLR lets your vision take flight. The long-awaited successor to the D750 has the same robust yet agile body, while packing even more heavyweight performance. Its 51-point AF system detects and tracks subjects more tenaciously, thanks to innovations including a new AF algorithm adapted from the flagship D5. And the possibilities don’t end there: it offers a rich array of advanced image-making options, from improved time-lapse movies to shutter speeds of 1/8000 to 900 s, and diverse movie functions including 4K UHD/30p with HDR (HLG) support. Combined with the effortless handling of a touch-operable LCD, the D780 lets you stay nimble, and seize every imaging opportunity.

Great upgrade over D750...HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Like the myriad of reviews say, the camera is great in photo mode, I like the rearrangement of buttons and I really like the touch screen, etc. I'm still very happy with the purchase.
However, one of my primary check boxes was to keep using my Tamron glass and that is where I've run into problems. My 70-200 2.8 G1 does not play well with the LV mode . Basically, if you're in LV and the AF is engaged, the LV will shut off intermittently. It appears to be connected to the power draw required to drive the AF motor. I had it start acting up on me at a video shoot the other day. I'm still trying to confirm if this happens with the G2 version of this lens (I don't know anyone who has one). So far my Tamron 15-30 is behaving (another reported problem lens for the z6) but I haven't put it through it's paces yet.
TLDR: If you have Tamron Lenses that are incompatible with the Z6, they may be also incompatible (in LV) with the 780.
Not great quality control.....
