Fits the 3200 with either the 18-55mm or 55-200mm lens attached.
Sufficient padding for protection, and stays attached to the camera strap while shooting, or can be easily removed.
Rather than do that, I ordered this case and I am glad that I did. It is about half (0.5) an inch longer than the CF-DC1 Soft Case, which is all that is needed for a good accommodation of the length of the 18-200 mm zoom. It doesn't say "Nikon" on the front of the case (Nikon is debossed on a piece of leather sewn to the top of the case), but that is just as well to help hide your expensive camera from thieves.
Construction seems as good as it was 8 years ago when we bought our first soft case, and other than the Velcro, that case has seen 70,000 pictures snapped and probably traveled half a million miles, generally on our shoulders (i.e., exposed to taxi floors, airplane floors and seats, trunks of autos, banged about all the time.

I have a Nikon D5100 and bought this case hoping it would work with both my 18-55mm lens and my longer lens (55-300 ???). Unfortunately it only works with the shorter lens. Read morePublished 10 months ago by IT
Works as expected. After many wild trips to patagonia, my case is doing very well keeping my camera dry and clean.Published 12 months ago by Johan V.
Nice cover. Looks great when new. It's a softer case not hardshell. When new, it keeps a shape but the more use it becomes softer like a pair of jeans. Read morePublished 13 months ago by Mike Sluder
