Your DSLR’s Best Friend
A must-have for standard portraits and everyday use, the AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G is a lens that will absolutely surprise you. The 50mm focal length (75mm equivalent on DX format cameras) with a fast f/1.8 aperture allows you to capture stunning images with a shallow depth-of-field, letting your subjects stand out from their backgrounds. The AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G may soon become your new favorite lens.
Brilliance In Any Light Get Astonishing Low Light Results
This lightweight standard lens is a great travel companion because you never know when a beautiful, sunny day will turn cloudy and rainy. With its fast f/1.8 aperture, the AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G will capture even low-light situations with stunning brilliance.
Beautiful Background Blur Achieve More Natural Depth Of Field
Whether you're shooting portraits, food or nature—indoors or outdoors—the AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G renders a beautiful, natural background blur (Bokeh) at its wider aperture settings. And its 50mm focal length is perfect for creating natural perspective in your photographs.
Capture Every Detail Shoot Tack-Sharp Portraits Every Time
Nikon's Super Integrated Coating (SIC) enhances light transmission efficiency and offers superior color consistency and reduced flare, while the AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G's Aspherical Lens Element (AS) virtually eliminates coma and other types of aberrations, even when shooting at the widest available aperture. Pair that with Nikon's Silent Wave Motor (SWM) for fast, accurate and quiet autofocus, and you can be sure all of your portraits will be tack sharp.

Silent Wave MotorAF-S NIKKOR lenses feature Nikon’s Silent Wave Motor (SWM). This technology converts 'traveling waves' into rotational energy to focus the optics. This enables high-speed autofocusing that's extremely accurate and super quiet. |
M/ASelect NIKKOR lenses have a focusing mode which allows switching from automatic to manual focusing with virtually no lag time by simply turning the focusing ring on the lens. This makes it possible to seamlessly switch to fine manual focusing while looking through the viewfinder. |
Aspherical LensA lens with a curved, non-spherical surface. Used to reduce aberrations and enable a more compact lens size. Aspherical lenses minimize coma and other types of lens aberrations, even when used at the widest aperture. They are particularly useful in correcting distortion in wide-angle lenses and help contribute to a lighter, more compact design by reducing the number of standard (spherical) elements necessary. Aspherical lens elements correct these distortions by continuously changing the refractive index from the center of the lens. |
Super Integrated CoatingNikon Super Integrated Coating is Nikon's term for its multilayer coating of the optical elements in NIKKOR lenses. |

I simply cannot say enough good things about this lens. While I will not insult your intelligence by making statements asserting that you will never take a poor shot with this lens, I do believe that use of this lens has greatly improved my photography, particularly while taking shots of my family. I find that this lens allows me to quickly make adjustments allowing for varying degrees of focus in my pictures, as I do like the look this gives my photos. I love the "softness" I am able to capture with this lens, and think that it makes my shots of my children look particularly good. In fact, this has become my "go to" lens for taking shots of my family, whether they be more formal posed photos or (my personal favorite) more candid shots. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS LENS!
This is effectively a 75mm lens for me - but without ANY edge artifacts due to it being an FX lens. This thing is super fast and sharp. A lot of the reviews here stated that the f/1.4 does not offer enough advantages to warrant the price and I do not regret this lens.
Incredible value for something that I can keep as I upgrade in the future.
The only down-point is that sometimes 50 mm is too close for some shots, even if you step back, sometimes you screw with your composition, but this only happens if you want to take a picture of a large subject or a landscape, which is not the purpose of this lens for me.

Generally 50MM (used on FX modle) field of view is what your eye can see with some crop of 10meters.So choose wisely between 35mm and 50mm

I never consider myself to be a professional photographer to be honest, I just like taking a nice family photos.
After signing myself up for ClickLoveGrow enthusiast photographer course I was recommended to buy this lens, omg! the best money ever spent!
at first I went for basic 50 mm D series (but later on I have read the reviews saying it would not focus on my Nikon D3100) I have cancelled the order and added 50% more money to buy this one, I do not regret it!
If you are a beginner and are fed up of taking average pictures - buy this lens!
Images attached to my review are all taken in auto mode.
The thing you need to know is that it does not have zoom, so it's better for portraits I guess.
I just got it and I already love it!
My only regret is that nobody has told me about it earlier.
if you love nice pictures do not think twice! get it!

Was soll ich sagen?
Volle Punktzahl!
Besser gehts nicht zu dem Preis!!
