5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Performance for little money
By NYRFanSTL on July 30, 2016
Purchased locally due to wanting to take for niece's son's 3rd b-day party today. Bought yesterday! So far, love the quality of the images on my d7100 with this lens. Initial impression is solid performance and build quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the BEST lenses for the price
By Keyser Reveal on February 20, 2017
This was my first lens. This is pretty much the best lens for the money that you can buy when starting out. I still use this lens today. It is very sharp and super quick. The bokeh that it renders is really creamy. As with most nikon lenses, this is very well made and offers a really sharp picture. Initially you'll find yourself wanting to shoot at 1.8 during every shot. Really good for low light situations. Overall I can't recommend a better priced vs quality lens for beginners or even vets for that matter. I highly recommend this lens. Superb!

5.0 out of 5 stars Everyone Needs This Lens!!
By Ron Walker on January 30, 2017
As a photography amateur, I was looking for a trusty, multi-use lens that could give me blurry backgrounds and that always sought after "bokeh" effect. That is exactly what I got with this lens! My pictures are more crisp and detailed than I could have ever imagined. I would definitely recommend this lens to anyone who is new to DSLR photography and wants to build up their lens collection. As a side note, I use this lens with a Nikon d3300.

Awesome lens I purchased to use with my D700. Pictures come out crystal clear bright and vivid even in low light. Must buy for Nikon FX owners.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have Prime Lens
By Gabriel Pinheiro de Carvalho on January 5, 2015
Sharpness everywhere, beautiful contrast, fast auto focus, smooth and creamy bokeh wide open, good low-lighting performance, that's what you get when shooting with this lens. This is my favorite lens by far, everything just looks great. Perfect for portraits and close-up pictures but can be used in a lot of other situations.

The only down-point is that sometimes 50 mm is too close for some shots, even if you step back, sometimes you screw with your composition, but this only happens if you want to take a picture of a large subject or a landscape, which is not the purpose of this lens for me.

Tolles Objektiv! Ich würde mal behaupten das die Bilder für das Objektiv sprechen. Sie wurden in der Dämmerung aufgenommen mit Blende 1.8, ISO1000 und Einer Belichtungszeit von 1/500 mit einer Nikon D5100.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nifty Fifty! Auto focuses with my Nikon D3100, the best money ever spent on photography accessory
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 7, 2018
I have had a DSLR for years now, and I have never taken so many great pictures as with this lens today! It's fantastic!
I never consider myself to be a professional photographer to be honest, I just like taking a nice family photos.
After signing myself up for ClickLoveGrow enthusiast photographer course I was recommended to buy this lens, omg! the best money ever spent!
at first I went for basic 50 mm D series (but later on I have read the reviews saying it would not focus on my Nikon D3100) I have cancelled the order and added 50% more money to buy this one, I do not regret it!

If you are a beginner and are fed up of taking average pictures - buy this lens!

Images attached to my review are all taken in auto mode.
The thing you need to know is that it does not have zoom, so it's better for portraits I guess.
I just got it and I already love it!
My only regret is that nobody has told me about it earlier.

if you love nice pictures do not think twice! get it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Tolles Objektiv
Reviewed in Germany on February 28, 2019
Was soll ich sagen?
Volle Punktzahl!
Besser gehts nicht zu dem Preis!!
Kaufen!
