Product Description

Product Description

One of the most trusted tools for bowhunters – the Archer's Choice Laser Rangefinder – has been given a new look and some enhancements that will cement its must-have status among bowhunters for years to come. New to the Archer's Choice in 2013 is an improved LCD display with an LED illumination that allows selection of the mode that contrasts best against subject and background. The uncluttered screen displays ranges with Nikon's trademark speed in.1-yard intervals. The Archer's Choice also has Tru-Target Technology that allows users to select between first target priority mode and distant target priority mode. First target priority mode generates an accurate reading on an object as small as a fence post while distant target priority mode displays the range of the farthest target among a group of targets measured. Originally designed with the help of Ralph and Vicki Cianciarulo of "Archer's Choice" television fame, Nikon engineered this rangefinder from the ground up specifically for real-world bowhunting situations.

I am a big fan of Nikon products, they have never let me down. This is my first rangefinder from Nikon, but I have had riflescopes in the past and they have been top notch performers.

This rangefinder is constructed very well, lot of attention to detail. I like that it is waterproof because where I bow hunt it rains a lot so that is a plus! The neoprene case and neck strap is fantastic, all range finders should include this. I lost my previous rangefinder because the case it had was crap and it fell out when I was bowhunting one day and I never found it.

Optic quality is very clear, but I never expected anything less from Nikon. Very accurate and fast ranging with true angle technology. The only complaint I have is the LED inside that lights up to view the display better is not the best, but I have not yet tested it out in the woods in the actual low light conditions I would be using it in, just in my house at night. In that respect, I feel the Leupold 1000i TBR DNA wins for heads up display clarity, but then again its 130 dollars more expensive. This suits my purposes perfectly because I don't need this rangefinder for rifle hunting as the farthest shot I would make is 300 yards and I don't need a range finder to tell me where to hold over on a deer at 300 yards.

As a bowhunter I highly recommend this purchase and I will be doing an update after the season to review its performance in a hunting situation.

Small, light, a easy to use. Checked the accuracy at 20, 30, and 40 yards with a hundred foot tape measure. Accuracy was dead on.

I own many different types of Nikon optical equipment and love them all. I presumed that this would also apply to this rangefinder. First, I noted there was some damage to the battery compartment cover, but there was no visible damage to the product box nor the shipping box. The optics were vivid and clear as with most, if not all, Nikon optical products. However I did note that I received erroneous or inaccurate readings in areas with low light. This was reported in another review. Due to the slight exterior damage, it was possible that an internal component could have been damaged. I returned the item for a refund.

It is compact and very easy to use, unlike my first rangefinder. (big bushnell)
I just grab it, with one hand, and point and push the button and get the yardage!!!
Very anxious to put it to use in real hunting trips.

Have noticed that I will get misreading at archery range when there is lower light and the target is black. Will give reading of 10.8 yds no matter what. This condition only occurred on one day, so otherwise, I am satisfied with this purchase.
