My only issue with the camera is that I need an articulated LCD screen, as in the situations where I'm shooting myself as a vlogger I need to see myself. It's hard without it. So if you need the articulated screen, move up to the D5000 series, which I believe is where you get this feature.
This camera has a mic input which is a big deal to some, but personally, I just would use a normal recording system
(like a Zoom H1n) and sync up the sound in my film editing program. I thought I would really care about this feature, but it turned out I didn't.
I made a recording of an inexpensive Sony ECMCS3 lav mic directly into the camera vs. just the normal sound. If you don't want to do a sound sync, it's a pretty incredible example of the quality of sound with a cheap ($20) lav mic.
