The containers are pretty sturdy, but I have punctured the top before from carrying an unopened cup loose in my backpack for a few days. As long as I remember to take the cup out after I've transported it to work, the containers hold up well.
To make the water fill line easier to see, I usually make a long indent in the cup with my fingernail. Also, make sure to stir the mixture very well. It's quite unpleasant to come across a dry spot in your soup because it wasn't fully dissolved.
The soup is thick and tasty. I really like lentil soup, so this flavor hit the spot for me. It has a mild spicy flavor courtesy of the turmeric - I often added a bit of hot sauce to pump up the heat a bit. It may be a bit thick for some people, but you can always add more water to make it thinner. The soup has been pureed, which may not appeal to some eaters. However, it also is very very filling, especially considering that the entire container is only 170 calories.
As is the case with most packaged soup, it is relatively high in sodium - a serving contains 540 mgs, which is almost 1/4 of the recommended daily intake. So these are not the best option for someone on a low sodium diet. The soup does not taste particularly salty, although I did find that I enjoyed it more when I paired it with fresh vegetables and fruit. For me, these worked as a fast, filling lunch.
