Sharing time with the late Nina Foch: Priceless
on February 12, 2011
This is a wonderful reference for anyone who is into the making of movies be they beginners, professionals, or academics who want perspective of a Hollywood "A-list" actor.
Nina introduced me via this two disc set to things I have not learned in many years of film school. The techniques touched upon here opened up my eyes to seeing things both obvious and so subtle only someone like Nina Foch could point out to the onscreen class and those watching the DVDs in the pursuit of production perfection.
Part of making an award winning and critically praised film is first to know what comprises one in the first place. This DVD set introduces professional processes in composition and breaking down screenplays, techniques for coaching and performing for actors, and directing in a manner that is enabling for on camera talent to deliver their best.
Whether you are a hard core film buff, academic, or professional in the industry this is a must have for you. The only way to make it better would have been to have all of the hundreds of hours of footage to experience each class day of filming with Nina Foch and her students at USC School of Cinema. The two DVD set is wonderful, but it does find me wanting more instruction from this legend of the silver screen. It's that good. She is that good. Order it and you'll be glad you did.
Included are some celebrity comments and insight on Nina Foch and how she helped them in building their careers and maintaining excellence in their work.
Classmates from USC School of Cinema Randal Kleiser, director of "Grease" and George Lucas of "Star Wars," along with their beloved instructor Nina Foch herself put this material together in a DVD set.
