While many so-called “revolutionary kitchen products” are hype and do about 1/2 of what is marketed the Ninja 3-in-1 Cooking System truly delivers and is well worth the money. Cooking and baking has never been so easy. You can make almost anything in it: sauté, bake or slow cook in one pot. So far, everything we have cooked has come out great. A lot less clean up and the recipes contained cookbook are great, too! This is now my favorite kitchen appliance.

After previously owning a Hamilton Beach 33967 Set 'n Forget 6-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker I purchased the Ninja 3-in-1 Cooking System at Costco for $99. While I got a great deal of use out of my Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker and was very satisfied with it I am glad I replaced it with the Ninja 3-in-1 Cooking System. Beyond having a six quart main pot and a slow cooker setting the comparison truly ends there between the two products. The convenience of the Ninja 3-in-1 Cooking System is in its versatility with multiple settings essentially eliminates the need to use a traditional crock pot again. First, a Stovetop setting with low, medium, high settings that can be used for simmering, sautéing, and searing meats.

The heading says model MC703, but the Item Model Number under Product Specifications says this is actually a model MC703CO. Based on the questions answered, the seller did correctly state that this base cooking system comes with only limited accessories.

Both models MC703 and MC703C0 have the following: base cooking unit, mounting rack roast/bake, multi-purpose pan, quick start guide, instruction booklet, and 150 recipe cook book.

However, Model MC703 ALSO has: silicon mitts, silicon muffin tray, and a roasting lifter set (a 4-piece fork/lifter set to get roasts, etc. out of the unit), A reviewer for the MC702 model says that if you purchase an MC703 directly from Ninja, you get a loaf pan instead of a silicon muffin tray. I haven't verified that myself, but I am simply repeating that possible difference here.

Also buyers should be aware that you cannot put the lid in the dishwasher because the instruction booklet says the lid will rust. It wouldn't be a huge problem for most people to wash the lid by hand, but they may want to know that up front. I returned the unit that I bought because of the mismarked model (which, to be fair, I purchased from a different seller than the one in this listing, but the other listing is now gone). However, I decided not to purchase another unit because I became reluctant to use the product for steaming foods after I learned about the potential for rusting in the lid.

One of the booklets that comes with the unit also lists other manufacturer's pans, cookware, etc. that can be used in the Ninja cooking system, so you don't necessarily have to buy a new set of Ninja-made pans in the unit. Ninja does sell an assortment of cookware on their website that will fit inside the unit, as well.

The Ninja does it all. Move seamlessly from searing to slow cooking without changing pots. I like that I can use it as a stovetop (with settings of low, medium or high), as a roaster, as a steamer, as an oven (with programmable settings for time and temperature), or as a slow cooker (with programmable time and temperature) that automatically switches to keep warm at the end of the cooking cycle. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of five is because the roaster rack handles are difficult to reach, and I think they should have made the metal lid dishwasher safe. It comes with a very nice cookbook, and lots of tips for converting your favorite recipes. I consider it a great buy.

This is NOT just a SLOW COOKER! I'm not a gourmet chef AT ALL, I'm a working Mom who wants to serve more than slow-cooker roasts, stews, chicken, stir frys, burritos, etc. I have an electric pressure cooker and a slow cooker. I was so excited to receive this as a gift a year ago (hence not being a "verified" purchase). Immediately tried browsing the included recipe book. Sorry, but recipes like 1 pot spaghetti made with frozen meatballs, "Prime Rib Au Jus" , "Pork Chops Provencal" or 'Balsamic Glazed Chicken with Radicchio" , or any of the others requiring "weird" ingredients or prep didn't appeal at all that much to me or my budget. Plus, I already knew how to make roasts/ribs and stews in my other appliances. (I'm guessing the company incorrectly assumed the only people able to splurge on this appliance were "cultured/culinary aficionados", not working people wanting to serve good food fast with minimal dishes to wash. The only recipe I tried was the ribs with the steam oven using flavor infused water for the steam (celery, onions, carrots, liquid smoke)-found out fast that I needed to keep a close eye on it and keep adding liquid-although it cooked dry, nothing burned, nor was the cooking pot damaged. (whew). I actually thought I had a broken unit at first, nothing in the directions specifically SHOW you how to use the temp/time button (or at least nothing obvious-I kept trying to push the button to change the temp).Read more ›
