I ordered the Creami because of the good reviews, and my own good experiences with Ninja Foodi products. I do have an ice cream maker (the Cuisinart) which works very well, though it took me years, and half a dozen machines before I found one which worked well. That said it does take up a lot of space in the freezer so I thought this was worth trying. However, the main reason I wanted it was to make low or no sugar fruit sorbet, as they promote. I have to say that I was disappointed (VERY) to discover that it should only be used with bananas and oranges. Really? That actually makes it almost useless to me, and it is expensive (for something which does 1 single thing,) and which I can already make.

I have, however, found a good use for it (if not a good place... it really is VERY large).
Freeze some Thai iced coffee and it makes excellent espresso ice cream.

I still can not find a space for it. I am OK with it on the counter during the summer, but now.... I have to find some (already scarce) cabinet space.

It is more like a shave ice machine than an ice cream machine. The fruit"sorbet" it makes is noot creamy, It just isn't, even when I respin.

But it does occupy less freezer space (but more counter space than my Cuisinart).
If you are thinking of buying this you should know that it only works with bananas and oranges, and that Ninja says using it with other things will damage the product and void the warranty.

Over cyber week I bought I Vitamix. It can handle frozen berries (and even rocks, according to one web site ;) So I may never use this again. It is a good deal more expensive, but it does other things as well, and can work with just about any variety of fruit

Pros: does not take up a lot of freezer space. Provides a new technique, opening up more recipes (maybe)
Cons : does just 1 thing. Takes up a lot of counter space, and is also heavy.
Can not use any fruit besides bananas and oranges
(Though I did use pomelo.... which is a lot like orange texture wise).. I am not sure I would call the result "sorbet"
I really think that if Ninja is going to promote this for sugar-free fruit sorbet, they ought to flat out tell people.... but just these 2 fruits.

Never had any issues with this blender. I bought it “Used” for over half off and I was not disappointed! It practically was brand new. If I didn’t know any better I would’ve thought it was brand new, plastic still on and everything. Keep in mind the machine is VERY loud when blending. I’ve had to blend things twice before but I think that’s from being too frozen, I believe leaving the frozen cup out for about 10 minutes would solve that issue. No complaints at all, definitely recommend!

I am probably not the typical user of this product. I am a weight lifter who needs to lose a few pounds. So instead of using the recipe book, I make protein shakes and freeze them, then churn them up in this machine. I got the idea from Rahul Kamat on youtube. The texture is AMAZING, considering the ingredients are unsweetened almond milk and protein powder. No cream or regular milk. The texture reminds me of a Wendy's frostee. No, seriously. So creamy and smooth. However, freezing the shake and running it through the machine somehow saps all the flavor. It's pale (not chocolatey enough) and also not sweet enough. So if you do it this way, add some extra cocoa powder and stevia drops before you freeze it. Make it too chocolatey and too sweet as a liquid, in order for it to taste decent as a frozen treat. Another thing to consider is that the product is by far the best when it's fresh made. It will refreeze hard as a rock and whatever this whirleygig contraption does, it leaves the end product with a weird texture if you thaw it. I figured well, it started as a protein shake, so if I can't finish it, I'll let it thaw and it will turn back into a liquid protein shake, right? Wrong. It kind of "breaks" and separates like a bad hollandaise sauce or something. Idk. It's weird. I drank it anyway so as not to waste expensive protein powder but i didnt enjoy it. These "protein shake frostees" for lack of a better term are THICK. I wanted more of a drinkable shake so one time I added some almond milk to my glass and stirred it in. Big mistake! That ruined the texture and made it icy! I come from the keto world and I have to say I can make a fantastic ice cream in my Cuisinart ice cream maker. It just has WAY more calories and fat due to the cream. But its much more similar to "real" ice cream than this is. One more thing, I can drink a protein shake in just a few gulps. But I have yet to finish one of these ninja creami pints in a single sitting. It really increases in volume and makes a LOT of product. Just FYI.

I did try to use this the regular way. I made some strawberry ice cream for my parents with real cream, sugar, corn syrup and strawberries. They said they liked it, but I was disappointed in it. I expected more. I think I could make a far better traditional ice cream in my Cuisinart. It didn't have the smooth creamy texture that I thought it would. It tasted weird to me. As others have said, it is pretty noisy. I wouldn't use this late at night if someone in your house is sleeping or if you have close neighbors like in an apartment. I got this on a deal. I don't know if I would be happy paying full price for it. If you find it at goodwill or something, I say snap it up! Because it is a quality machine. But otherwise, maybe give it a pass. I do own many other ninja products and they are all GREAT. I just think this particular one is too much of a niche/novelty and it takes up a lot of space. Just my 2 cents.

Downside is it kinda loud and time consuming because it takes about 10 hrs to fully freeze before making the ice cream. Also the cups end up taking a lot of space in the freezer because you have to keep it on a flat surface to freeze properly.
